I think this is great project and great demonstration of your entrepreneurship.

My 2 kids (early 20s) are arriving on 12th for their first visit to Doha, they won't make the 12th but it would be great for them to attend on another occasion.

I can always come dressed as you see here....v cool chic...

This is picture is obviously NOT me, I don't smoke..

Just to follow this up..

The venue is 5* and we are targeting a 5* audience. Our mission statement is to organise first class entertainment for our clientèle.

I will not allow myself to be drawn into a vindictive slanging match. I prefer to be positive.

Whatever you "think" you know, or whatever your opinion is...

Ultra Chic is targeted at people who fall into the bracket of cool, exclusive, VIP, however you describe them, it is what it is !!!!

We are offering, 100 for females and 150 for males with one free drink each, some of the worlds best djs. Check out their bio to reinforce this and its all put together by Qatars largest entertainment company.

The public event capacity is 600 people.

There's 650 on facebook with 741 maybes and we're reluctant to use our direct target audience database of 10,000 people by SMS, or our 6000 email database as its exclusive and limited to 600 cool people...

That's a lot of people.

AS AN ADDED ADVANTAGE, ENTRANCE TO A 5* HOTEL IN QATAR COSTS ON AVERAGE 250QR TO SIT AT THE POOL.

WE ARE OFFERING THIS AND 1st CLASS ENTERTAINMENT.

AND YOU ARE COMPLAINING..

Some of your comments are way below the belt and totally uncalled for, i am however used to QL's on going attitude, i pay myself to read your rubbish, what's your excuse.

I've said it before, if you are not interested in the event, do not reply, no need for you to comment.

The event description is correct, if you do not agree with it or if you do not like it then that's up to you, get over it, don't let it ruin your life you bunch of boring old farts...

THANK YOU AMNESIA, WE DO GO THAT EXTRA MILE..

woah guys what's going on. If people have been to Master Jay's events they'd know that he always goes the extra mile.

It's one night of people having a nice party styled gathering. I don't think this is going to ruin the whole year.

In fact it's to encourage a different type of crowd. It's not some rave....

Mark and Lard, the two best DJs in the world.

Stop.

Carry on.

I think you have me confused with someone who gives a sh1t.

By fubar• 4 Jun 2009 13:01

Hang on, I'm really confused.

In your post you write:

ADVANCE BOOKING IS RECOMMENDED TO SECURE YOUR EXCLUSIVE PLACE AT ULTRA CHIC...

But Master Jay goes on to say:

There are no advance tickets for sale anywhere.

Okay... that makes sense.

Then he says in one post:

"This is a totally new concept"

Before contradicting himself by saying:

"We have been doing this for a long time".

Frankly, I'm just intrigued by the idea of people having rocking up to a party without any guarentee that they will be allowed to enter. I have visions of scores of people who are barred from entering making a ruckus at the door. Now *that* would be quite a party.

Oryx, reminds me of my clubbing days back in London. Most of the times I used to end up in the Latino bars. Had plenty of Salsa, merenge, cha cha lessons to shake those hips..

I guess for you it will be shaking those hips like Shakira, for me it is more like shaking my pot beer belly like pavaroti..lol

donasa - Exclusivity is something that excludes other groups. You could have a party for poor people only. That would be an exclusive party.

In relation to this party, it's exclusively for 'high end' people as you say, which probably translates as rich, but not necessarily so.

Personally I think QR150 is a lot of money, but then perhaps I'm not a 'high end' person.

By Oryx• 4 Jun 2009 09:36
Oryx

Well he wants ultra - chic....

The Latinos know how to party in a very fun way - so he should give them an incentive to turn up. These events have a rep of drunken kids etc....

So UK we have to watch u dance to Shakira's 'hips dont lie' ????

LOL

not directly, but it does... (it's hard to me to explain in english!). But when you put a price on something you either make it accessible to a lot of people or increase the price and close the circle of buyers of your product. What I'm trying to say is that he's stating that this party is targeted to high end people... and the price does not say so...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_end

Anyway, I don't really see the point of discussing this here any further because I have a huge lack of making my point clear to others at this moment... and I'm not attending this party...

By Oryx• 4 Jun 2009 09:07
Oryx

I run the Latinos Group here in Qatar....now will there be any group discounts?

so lets get down to business!

By Oryx• 4 Jun 2009 09:05

If I go and I dont find it 'ultra chic' that is full of drunk kids and heavily indebted Lebanese saying they are someone very important- do you think I will get my money back?

We have been doing this for a long time.

We know who is who and again, the list is 85% full of people that have been directly invited by us and or affiliate companys like red bull for example, the rest is for walk ins, its only a limited amount of people.

Just give it a shot, im sure you will like it, but get down early, it will sell out.

There are no advance tickets for sale anywhere.

There is a pre approved list of known people.

It is selective entrance, im sure you will have no problem if you come presentable.

This is to ensure good quality as it is in any other place, if you deem yourself to be this then im sure you will be fine, it's not going to be as strict as crystal or pearl for example but it will be along those lines.

There is a diplomatic way to handle every situation.

By nameduser• 3 Jun 2009 15:47
nameduser

so If i dont Look "upto standard" at the entrance I will be rejected and my Qr 150 is down the drain? thats retarded. I was planning on coming but now I'm not. I'm not coming to a place with selective entrance. don't want to take the risk of killing my weekend! cheers!

By tallg• 3 Jun 2009 15:39
tallg

Hey, if you pull it off then more power to you.

I'm intrigued to know how can you employ a strict entrance policy when tickets are for sale in advance?

Will you be interviewing people when they buy their ticket?

And what criteria will you use to determine who is allowed to buy a ticket and who isn't?

By Master_Jay• 3 Jun 2009 15:21
Rating: 5/5
Master_Jay

Hi Tallg,

This is a totally new concept geared towards a high end market of people, Its an exclusive event with a very strict entrance policy. If you like this sort of thing, give it a try, im sure your opinion will change quickly.

Its a new place and a new outlook for Global DJs, anything we do there will be geared towards a high end market and a limited amount people, the entrance policy will be very very very strict and very very exclusive, it will be a breath of fresh air for people who enjoy a good night out, no other promoter's will be doing it so its not going to get wasted.

If everyone had this attitude we would not move forward, all of you need to support new ideas and new concepts for them to be a success from the start, otherwise there is no room for change and there is no point in us being here offering cutting edge concepts, artists and events..

There's more to come here, if you give it a shot, you will see the difference.

Cheers, j

It's a nice concept Master_Jay, and if executed properly I'd probably go. But in reality, it wont happen in Doha.

The clientele will be the same people who go to the events at the InterCon and DipClub - i.e. young, loud, extremely drunk people, mostly passed out all over the place before the sun even sets.

Now I'm all for events like that, and have enjoyed ones at both of those places. But why the need for yet another venue?

It's not a question of being boring old farts, it's about having somewhere for everyone. Up until now the Hyatt has been a chilled out place for a couple of quiet drinks. If you wanted more of a party atmosphere you went to the InterCon. Everyone was happy.

But an event like this will start to send the Hyatt down the same route as the InterCon, which is why people are reacting as they are.

I hope you can understand. Don't take it personally, I think what you are doing in Doha is amazing, considering that no one else here seems capable of organising anything remotely close to entertainment.

By Master_Jay• 3 Jun 2009 02:50
Master_Jay

I think some of you are going WAY WAY overboard.

Ever heard of Nikki Beach in Miami? Similar type of concept.

I know a few people personally on this board that may be interested in this event, its not for everyone, and no its not a public sale event, and how can something be common and boring if it never happened before.

Ultra Chic caters to exclusive people that like a hassle free environment with cool like minded people and quality music. Global DJs and Grand Hyatt team up to offer an amazing day from 3pm to 1am in an amazing location.

You cant really argue with that, and it certainly doesn't warrant your negative comments, lets be reasonable.

Other events that we have done this year include, Beachfest, Tiesto and David Vendetta... www.globaldjs.org

Q & A...

Nakadia is from thailand - http://www.myspace.com/nakadia

Forgot to mention... EVERYONE MUST BRING PASSPORT'S OR QATARIS ID'S ONLY... NO ACCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

As a side note, bob sinclar is in Doha on June 18th another night you should not miss, unless you are a boring old fart, which seems to be the case on this forum, he he, just kidding..

Cheers,

J
