As an owner of an Asus phonepad, an Ipad 4 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1...I say the Samsung is EASILY the best one out there

Yes, that is true, but you can always find thousands of apps for iPad, like in Android that have huge lists in Playstore. When it comes to flashplayer, both iPad and Android tablets don't have it as Adobe discontinue the service in replacement of Adobe Air, however you can still have flash-players on your devices both iOS and Android provided you download it directly from other source.

Cheers,

Asus is not well with me, may be with others. I love Samsung tab 2. If you would emphasis some of it's strength, I could appreciate you!!

To get a detailed review Goggle search "Best of the Tablets & Mini Tablets Qatar" and hit the 1st in the list. The results are interesting to say the least!

Until Microsoft Surface launches later this year, there is only really one to consider and that's the iPad 3.

Apple is waning... in fact both Apple and Samsung Galaxy will find it difficult to survive 2013 onwards as they will have a lot of market share swallowed by the small players offering a lot of features for small price.

There is HCL Me 7 inch tablet available at QR 550 approx (at Safari) (no Gps & Sim Slot) and a QR 1600 Apple 2 available at Jarir Samsung Galaxy Tab is also around the Apple 2 price.

If he wants to make calls, take phots and use GPS then I would recommend Apple or Galaxy Tab...for eveything else there HCL ME

I have heard a lot of blah blah about the Apple resolution... but frankly I cannot make out ANY difference at all ... maybe it would make a difference if one is reading tiny text.... but who would read tiny text? Everybody Pinch-n-Zoom right?.

About Android: (www.zdnet.com has obviously manipulated the scenario)

Apps can be downloaded from third-party sites or through online stores such as Google Play (formerly Android Market), the app store run by Google. In June 2012, there were more than 600,000 apps available for Android, and the estimated number of applications downloaded from Google Play was 20 billion.

Android became the world’s leading smartphone platform at the end of 2010.

For the first quarter of 2012, Android had a 59% smartphone market share worldwide.

At the half of 2012, there were 400 million devices activated and 1 million activations per day.

Analysts point to the advantage to Android of being a multi-channel, multi-carrier OS.

Apple iPad3 is boring and doesnt even have GPS.... unless you put in a simcard and traces you through the cell tower triangulation.

IPad is rated only the 4th best tablet... how times have changed!

Acer Iconia is the best.. even has HDMI to play games & movies on Large screen LCD/LED TV... has USB port... has no problem with connectivity... for bigger Keyboard, bigger mouse, flash drive... and most important of all ... external HDD... yanni unlimited Storage option!!!

And Android 3.0 onwards is the best platform.... unlimited games & softwares no problem with compatibility... browse any website flash or HTML.. watch streaming movies & listen to streaming radio...

If you buy Android dont buy anything below Android 4.0(Ice Cream Sandwich).

To get a indepth review you can Google search for "Best of the Mini Tablets Qatar" and hit the 1st link (it has a comparison table)

But the biggest Question should have been 10 inch or 7 inch.? There are 7 inch mini-tablets available today which cost below QR700 like the Micromax Funbook... Karbonn Tab and similar...

I think you should go for the 7 inch thing... as it is more portable... and doubles up as an excellent GPS... perfect size..

I wrote this long only for Arien... else I no longer bother... ;-)

I just wanna clarify that the WiFi only Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T is already available at about $550.00 for the 32 GB model at Amazon. The LTE (4G?) version is the one not released yet.

I've got the Prime, all good so far. No issues with WiFi or GPS, plus i can watch most live sports as supports Adobe Flash.

nope. I meant that android products have a lower shelf life irrespective of whether they support flash or have apps.

It is very rare that android supported products more than 1 or two newer versions of the OS. Android wraps up your phone with your mail account more completely than iOS does.

Serag thank you, I guess I also should wait for the infinity since prime has the wifi and gps issues in its reviews

Asus Transformer Infinity is a 10.1" tablet, should be the best, highest resolution, with an LTE (4G?) version available, But sadly it's still not launched yet (I'm waiting for it though).

The Google Nexus is a 7" tablet made by Asus for Google, No 3G, but has the latest android ver 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean).

Asus Transformer Prime is a nice Quad-cored 10.1" tablet with the highest brightness (should be easier to view outside) there is, but no 3G model, and there were some complains regarding Wifi & GPS reception.

If I gotta buy now, I'd go with the Infinity, or Nexus Tab for the 7".
