Stealing

What do they do in Qatar to people that steal?

I was yesterday at Villagio with my husband and son and all of sudden while leaving the mall, this mid-aged woman, around 50yrs, wearing hijjab, and black dress (like Qatari custom) was leaving the mall and police were screaming at her. The police tried to take from her the purse she was carrying, but she started screaming and pushing back the purse at her. Then a police woman came and held her hard and took her to a car. Then the woman again started to act like a crazy one saying she didnt do a thing, blah blah blah, if she didnt do a thing then she wouldnt be caught and stopped for nothing.

Then lots of people came around the scene, and they took her in a car.

It's sad to see Muslim people do this, because I am a Muslim too!!!!! specially since she was wearing a hijjab too. TOO SAD!!!!!!

Anyway, what will they do to her? put her in jail, or do what its done in KSA? .

i saw lots of women wearing hijab stealing in supermarkets...even the cashiers knows what they are doing but they tend not to interfere.it's so embarassing to know how this women act in public but maybe they suffer an illness so called "kleptomaniacs".i can't blame them...

question: do we have a penal code in these gulf countries as we have in many other countries?

islamic countries in the gulf say, they follow the sharia law but the punishments are not the same for the same offences in different countries here.

i feel, dubai and bahrain follow the most lenient forms of sharia laws..whereas saudia follows the sharia fully.

countries like sharjah, abudhabi, oman and qatar follow the middle path..

i wonder why??

are they trying to make the country more expat friendly and earn revenue through other means of trade wherever there is not much of resources in terms of crude oil and natural gas??

or, is it just the shadow of the ruler's viewpoint on the sharia?

Qatarifemme said...."and for your info, it doesn't matter what's your color, gender, ethnicity, religion if you steal, all are EQUAL."

Are you really sure about what you said? Do you read "Court Round Up" Section in the papers?

Yes, in Islam, All are Equal...but not here.

Do not worry they will not cut her hand.

If she is not Qatari she will be deported.

Or put in the jail for few days to let her know how bad her act is.

Hijab and Niqap does not make the Muslim women good or bad.

What makes Muslim women good is how they rais their children properly and how they take care of the husband, how they treat other people honestly and how open minded they are.

stealing…stealing…stealing

To love the one who loves you,

To admire the one who admires you,

In a word, to be the idol of one’s idol

Is exceeding the limit of human joy,

It is stealing fire from heaven……

Good morning everyone…

If you really know that religion has nothing to do with such actions, then why on earth you stated those words: Muslim, hejab (head scarf).. ?

& to answer your question, first they don't just cut off hands and I in the recent years have never seen such thing in KSA,there are conditions for such prosecution first, there has to be eyewitnesses, they look at what he stole or the value, lastly most of those cases will end in pardon or just fin and jail time .

& no Qatar doesn't follow the same rule as KSA in this particular case and for your info, it doesn't matter what's your color, gender, ethnicity, religion if you steal, all are EQUAL.

Now my Question if some one Rapes in KSA why do they lash him and not chop off his prick ????

Well Laws differ every where. right.

Actually She will be procecuted then she can hire a lawyer and fight the case if she is qatari may be there is different laws also that if she realy stole something from store and it also depends what the price of it..if they have stealing laws in Qatar that maximum amount example above 1000 QA stealing will lead to jail.. if below then they will keep their identiy record and give warning and let them go....I hope she learned her leason and ask forgivness from ALLAH and free herself from this situation repent never to repeat again.!!!!

Suzan...by knowing that they dont cut the hands but just a couple of months in jail do you wanna give it a try...:)

just that your persistence to know whether the hands would be cut or not gets me thinking on those lines...nothing personal...

and BTW hijab is used by women other than muslim too for some other reasons...:) you cant therefore be sure if it was a muslim women...

I know that religion doesnt make a person. I know tons of people that went to the Haj and they are LIARS! and I even know Muslim that are thieves as well. OK?

I just wanted to know if in Qatar whatever they do in KSA because of theft is also done????????????? I know that in KSA they cut the hand? DO THEY DO THAT HERE TOO?

I don't think religion and what she's wearing has anything to do with this, however, in many cases religion sets the rules that you'd have to follow, especially when you know there are consequences and karma.

But being x or y or z religion does NOT make you an angel. It's all about morals and values.

And some people misuse the religion and the customs to get away with their behavior just like this woman
