Shakespeare and Co.
It was the first time that I have been in Abu Hamour area and realized that there is a shopping mall as well. Dar Al Salam shopping mall. How come I missed that!
Dar Al Salam Mall is a UAE based chain and is just 30 minutes away from Doha City Center.
It’s one of the newly opened shopping malls in Doha and I loved it. This is the first time I shopped without any stress in Carrefour and no queue in cash, there is no crowd no touching each and every fruit, vegetable or bread, you enjoy your shopping. Compared to other Carrefour`s this one was a smaller and do not have electronic item part. But you will have a chance to find better vegetables and fruits.
Dar Al Salam is recently opened and not all shops are running but Carrefour is more than enough for food shopping and Shakespeare and Co is the café – restaurant that you must visit once.
The Shakespeare and Co. concept consists of an upscale –casual café-restaurant, a French style which will make you feel like a prince or princess.
Decoration makes this place different and interesting. There are frames on ceiling, curtains draped all over the restaurant, painting and much more.
We had chosen the comfortable sofas in corner and welcomed by the staff and was so happy of their great service.
We ordered Blue cheese & Pear Salad and Hallumi Cheese.
As starter we had an amazing butter with garlic and pesto sauce that I never tried before. It was so tasty with the small buns.
This is the delicious blue cheese & pear salad. You can see that its so rich with raisins, nuts, cheese and greens.
I am not a person who orders salad in a restaurant. It’s a side dish for me. Even I don’t like to mix salty and sweet tastes this salad was a signature recipe.
Overall I love the place, food and will definitely visit again.

i like the decoration
I was taking cooking courses in Turkey and know how to make chocolate,
I will send you pictures when I reach home, I m sure you will love them
I've never tried the SB carrot cake but lurrrrrve the peanutbutter stack...yum! From Magnolia I tried some of their chocolate cakes, cos I am a chocoholic, and found them to be decent compared to some places here. But yeah they are pricey hence not a place you eat at often!
I have been to Magnolia Bakery today as you said they are slightly expensive , to be honest I will prefer Starbucks carrot cake which is rich in cream and cheaper:)

That's the one..yep!It's not the cheapest but the portions are generous. Looking forward to your review =D
Thanks @Britexpat.
I will try to publish restaurant reviews on this forum and hope to keep in touch and reach more people and get more comments to my blog.
Great advertising for the Mall and your blog. Thanks
Hi Fatimah,
I think you mentioned Magnolia Bakery.
I will try that place this Friday and will write a review about it.
As I heard its expensive but lets try.
at the Dar-Al Salaam mall. Can't recall the name of the cafe, but they sell really decent cakes and other desserts too.Yummy wares and certainly worth the drive!
British name selling French style food..hmmm like the write up though might give a try tomorrow..:)
I have been going to this one eversince I moved to Abu Hamour last September.. Never been to any other carrefour since. The less people know about it, the better it is.
And yet people flock to Villagio, which is twice as far away!
So many sheeple in Qatar who love to follow the crowds.
I dont think anyone is going to bother to go that far... so don't worry.... your carfour is safe
Shhh... don't tell everyone about Dar Al Salam mall, then there will be lines at the Carrefour! I go there all the time and it's always so nice and quiet.
