Ramadan tent

Hello

I just called a couple of hotels to know the price for a dinner in one of the Ramadan tent.

It might be interesting for somebody.

Marriott

135 QAR for Iftar
175 QAR for Sohour

Children 0-5 free, 6 and up,half price

Four Seasons

200 QAR
No discount for children

Intercontinental

165 QAR
Children 0-6 free, 7 and up full price

Ritz Carlton

185 QAR
Children 0-5 free, 6-12,half price.

Of course you have to add the 17%tax!!

Can someone explain me the difference between Iftar and Sohour?

Which Ramadan tent is the best? Can we socialize with Qatari people there?

Thanks

Jenny

"Sohour is the last meal, before fast , early in the morning. You have to finish eating before sunrise, which is in Qatar around 5:20 am."

---> Actually, u have to finish eating before morning prayer and not morning sunrise, which is at 4 am.

I have been in Qatar for the past 8 Ramadans and have been to most of the Ramadan tents in the 5* hotels.

I have to say that The Ritz Carlton over the years has out shone the rest by a long way. The food, the service, the decoration, the entertainment and the ambiance.

Although the Four Seasons may be the most expensive I was not that impressed,

This year I think I will try and make it to Sharq Village to sample what they can offer.

Whatever tent one goes to it is important to respect the religion, culture and reasons behind why they have Ramadan Tents.

I am planning a QL Pet group Ramadan tent visit, so the prices you have quoted help me alot.

Jauntie. Ramadan tents are operational during the whole of Ramadan. Entertainment is every evening.

which meal was it you went for ... if music was on the go, then I guess iftar was the one.

Was it at the week end? Or do they have music every evening ...

Apologies for so many questions.

Iftar is the first meal after fast , the fast break (in Qatar Iftar starts around 5:30 pm).

Sohour is the last meal, before fast , early in the morning. You have to finish eating before sunrise, which is in Qatar around 5:20 am.

If you want, you can check the exact time here:

We went to InterCon tent, and it was amazing. I have never seen such a good service in Doha since I came here about 9 months ago! And decoration is very nice. A music band and a singer are also very good. Recommended!
