QUBE sucks big time!

Imz
By Imz

Its one weekend nite when my friends where desperate calling me to Qube to hang out with them, mind it guys I don’t drink. So after so much urge from my friends, me and my Girlfriend went out to the Qube, I was not in the party mood, I just wanted to see my friends so that they stop bugging me. I happened to wear an open foot wear and I was shocked that the Qube guy dint allow me to enter. I kept on tellin him I need to go in for 5 mins only, he kept directing me towards a notice for dress code saying person not allowed in shorts and open footwear. I then pointed on one of the girls wearin an open footwear and extra short skirt, I was like "Is that allowed?" And he's like she's a girl. She can come in naked, and that’s what we want so that our sales increase. He's like we'll let your girl go in and not you. It was soo sick. I might never make it to Qube. I mean… what sort of a rule is that, and no offences to anyone but I wonder what sort of ppl are in Qube who wants the girl to actually wear clothes as small as she can, so that their sales increase…
Guys does it help, if the girl wears tiniest of the clothes??? Lol!!!

Sandeep...that was neither my bidding or selling price, I have never been to Qube, its just not my types ... 18QR was what someone paid to buy something at KFC, as I said... moreover everything we come to know is not by our personal experience... isn't it...many things we know by whats happening around us or experienced by people around us... and thats why I said "Ï heard"...

on a lighter note...I wouldn't mind to bid or sell at 18QR...as the saying goes whether the knife falls on the apple or the apple falls on the knife, the result is the same (now this is keeping the basic principle of nature in consideration)...

hi Imz, i think in every big city nite clubs dress code is practically the same for male. No short, No sandals and No tank top. This rules is very common in every where. Unless is on beach party event.

Only in Bali, Ibiza or tropic islands paradise where you can go with sandals and short and allow to entry to nite club. For woman, is different story. You really dont want to see woman in abaya on the dance floor dont you? beside we, woman like to see men who dress nice in such places. Next time you know what to do when it come to nite club dress code. Please don't get up set with the security or front man in Cube because of this incident. If I may make advise here "learn, be positive and move on".

Let me tell you somethin I think you are descent person, but I bet I'll beat you on that as well, meanin, no matter how descent you are from my knowledge no one escorts you upstairs.. if you are being given the golden service.. certainly it has to do with the amount of beer or tip in short money you spend there... coz i spend ****all money in there, and now i'll malke sure I dont c it.. This whole idea of clubbing and pop culture started off way back in the west in the 80s The pubs out here are just an outcome of westernization thats all...

As far as tolerance in America is concerned the claims are tall.... Like many places burn effigies around households of Indians Racial abuse is still prevalent at work places...

Cant deny that even in Qatar such acts of human trafficking and others happens but the space to coexist is limited when it comes to the west due to clash of egos and superiority complex...

By Hugh G. Rection• 15 May 2007 11:55
Hugh G. Rection

Being tolerant of other cultures is what gives Armerica meaning. They bend over backwards to try to accommodate everyone's religions no matter how extreme they get. The only problem is you can't please everyone. During Ramadan do the Qataries try to accommodate their foriegn workers? NO. Everyone is supposed to go along with their tradition. If they want to fast, fine, but why should everyone else stop eating and drinking in public? We all can coexist.

Sex doesn't happen in night clubs, but there is some heavy grinding going on, basically like simulating sex.

Some of the best countries in the world attract people from all over for the travel, beauty, culture and recreation. But the flip side is the wild nightlife. That too is where what people come to experience.

It is the country of Qatar. They are far from perfect also. With all the human rights violations, human trafficing, raping maids, etc... I understand this is a world wide problem also. However, if they want people to come people will stop complaining about what goes on inside a club that no one is forcing them to go to.

ONe has to be tolerant of other cultures.. Thats the most important.. The whole american culture is meaningless as they dont have one at all..

So comparing a night club out here to any one in the west is absolutely baseless...

Sex in nite clubs in Qatar has to be banned or strict rules need to be enforced else another Dubai in the making

Are you crazy? Isn't this the reason people go to clubs? To meet Men/Women. I have it down to a science. The women can go upstairs to drink, dance, etc...without being bothered. Only men with a female are allowed upstairs. This means if you see women sitting downstairs with their friends then they are open to being approached by men. I have many Filipina friends from there. You just have to learn ignore the other tools.

As for Filipino Gangs??? I'm not even going to comment, you need to go home and slap yourself for that statement.

I must agree...This new band is terrible. I was bored as hell. The DJ is pretty good though. The only suggestion I would make is to stay past 11PM. It will pick up alot.

For some that are making comments as far as the women's attire: you need to get out more. This is the way women dress in the Western world. If Qatar wants tourism, they need to get used to this. Gyrating on the Dance Floor: Go to any night club in the U.S. it's like sex on the dance floor. I will agree that is disgusting.

Bottom line is...The nighlife anywhere is supposed to be risque. That's why these activities occur between adults during the night hours.

Qube is one of the best night clubs I've ever been to. I don't care about the greasy men. I've met some of the nicest people there from Phillipines, Ethiopia, Nepal, etc...No prostitutes! Just good ole people trying to have a good time. And not be accused of being in a gang or being a hooker!

Time to grow some thick skin people. Worry about yourself, and stop judging others. If you don't like Qube...DON'T GO!! You won't be missed! As long as the current managment is filling 2000+ people in a night they arent going to change for some guy who got rejected. Sounds like it's time to step your game up, Son. Or open your own club! Hell maybe you needed a shower? There are a lot of dudes in there that smell like urine. But to me that's the beauty of the club scene. I get the girls because I'm clean, respectful to them, treat them right. It's like I'm an Alpha Male up in that piece. Especially while their are guys outside that can't get in wondering WTF just happened. The door guys greet me like I'm VIP. Why? I don't know. Some of them escort me upstairs to meet women if I don't have one with me.

I repeat again. If Qatar wants to become a tourist attraction get used to the dark side of being a tourist country. Skimpy attire, sex, alcohol, drugs, parties, crime of all sorts. Its unavoidable! Happens all over the world. Keep your head on straight and you'll be fine.

Hugh G. Rection

The (new) band's okey but I do wish they could come up with better repertoire. And another band that would cater to the dancing crowd.

Honestly, I was flabbergasted to see that some "ladies" behaved very badly and made a spectacle of themselves on the dancefloor, much to the amusement of the ogling men around, young and old, irregardless of nationality.

I'm not being self-righteous, maybe I'm just feeling "old" but I wish the management would impose the same dress code to both men and ladies going to that place. Public display of affections, some ladies hopping from one group (of men) to another. I We even saw one lady wearing a micro-mini skirt, a strapless body-hugging blouse and wearing a black flip-flop and dancing her heart out.......OMG!!!

Quite amusing to some, but not to us...

Imz, are you serious man, i mean i know that Qube sucks but i wasn't expecting it to be for this reason, i mean i'm glad they did not let you in with sandals and shorts, actually i have more respect for them now and it looks as if they are trying to turn this around. You were complaining that u were not allowed while the girls wearing skirts and high heals are allowed? have u been to paloma, its the same thing, how about the pearl, no jeans are even allowed and i used to not like this policy but after this actually i'm happy with that. No offense man, but sandals are for beaches and not clubs even for 5 mnts.

I always tell the truth, even when I lie

Follow the rules. I have an interesting question like what are the rules in clubs for muslims.. Are they allowed to booze... Sunds like really ridiculous..... Most of the arabs in the Dip club drink and lazy arnd...... Doesnt seem to fit into the scene at all...

And is there a big gang of filipino hookers at the Qube??

Although I'm always dressed for the ocassion this was the first time that I was wearing an open foot wear to the club, it was like an unplanned visit. but I'd go to a club to chill my self, I mean if I feel comfortable in a T and a short with sandals on i dont't understand why there is a fuss about, mind it untill an unless the shorts are descent and they look cool, its fine. I did speak to my other freinds abt this incident, the'r like in any part of the world ur not supposed to wear shorts n go. Whatever but I dont think its the appropriate way! yes stop the person who's like misbehaving or does not fit in to the atmosphere. thats fine, but even if the guy comes in with a girl for a couple entry they dont allow u to go in with shorts. I feel hard to take it. ya what can I do, the club is not mine....

I think you can if you're a member.

Laz, since when can you go to Pearl "in a pair of jeans and Shirt and still get the same greeting if I go in with a suite". No way can you go in there wearing jeans.

having been only twice to this place I will neverreturn or recommend to anyone, it is a filipino haunt, with terrible music, single guys sharing a beer while they are restricted to ogle any women in the place as they cannot afford to take them home. It is a poor excuse for a club, discriminates against some males and rips off the others!

no problem with the dress code rule though, I agree that anyone going out to a club, no matter how bad, should not be allowed in wearing flip flops and shorts!

Tbh, it's the same back home in the UK, and it's gotten much, much worse over the years, which is why I don't go out to clubs as much I did.

Clubs tend to specialise in employing the most up-their-own-@rseholes and macho type of idiots on the door. You usually some some uppity chick with a clipboard in charge of the guest list who looks you up and down, and the bouncers are appallingly aggressive and hostile and like to throw their weight around.

I'm always wary of places that have bouncers on the doors, the bouncers tend to start more trouble than they prevent.

Over here, it's now common for bars and pubs in city centres to have 'door staff', not just nightclubs. I try to avoid those places and try to go to places that don't have them.

I can tell without even going in there...I was in a same situation like yours IMZ, where i had to go to qube to meet my friends, but the security guy wouldnt let me in coz i didnt have a girl with me. I presented my business card; Since I work in THE PEARL QATAR project, my business card had its logo, and the security guy went: you can go into the clubs once you open the island, without any girl. This is couples only club. Despite the fact that this whole couples only policy doesnt make any sense to me nor to any other entertainment industry outside qatar, I don't understand the level of management they have over at the Qube to hire such rude and ignorant people to be the face of the club. im a member in The Pearl club in marriot and I can go in there in a pair of jeans and Shirt and still get the same greeting if I go in with a suite. Its not about dress code or formality, its about people exploiting clients and providing poor of service.

Dress code for men in nightclubs is not unheard of. I don't find this surprising or discriminatory.

Pearl won't let guys wearing t-shirts and jeans in.

I don't think this qualifies for a reason as to why Qube sucks, if it does. Never been there.

Your instinct not to go was correct. Next time, don't go...nothing to lose...

Everybody i know has been to Qube and I really don't care... I don't want to go...
