While making the signs you talked again about "Once Again History is repeating Itself" and the civil liberties ,ALL people are entitled too.

Remember Tien Amen

This is an issue of human rights.

"Once Again History is repeating Itself" post has nothing to do with HATE, and all to do with DISCRIMINATION.

This was not something to be left to a popular vote in QL.

a Ghandi quote in it I felt was far too fitting:

"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians, your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

I seem to remember Dracula you posted "Once Again History is repeating Itself" it sure looks like its about the Palestinian issue. Thats the pot calling the kettle black! TOOOOOOOOOOO Funny. Some of us would prefer to discuss relevant current events that effect our lives since many of our friends living in Qatar have relatives in Gaza. Why didn't you add your thread to Speeds as you suggest others do?

It's true there are some "silly"/"rude" answers sometimes but...telling to newbies to go for a search doesn't seem impolite to me, it's quite helpful I guess, especially for those who don't know very clear what they want, for those who don't know very good English or simply for the shy ones...so it's good to know, huh? It's like in real life, the old ones are enough experienced to offer good advices to young ones, in our case newbies. If you ask me I can tell I feel free indeed on this site but it's a controlled one, you cannot do "whatever you want", there are some guardian angels watching the limits of the good sense/politeness and there are rules to be respected (rules which I recommend you to be aware of) You see, I am politely inviting you to read the Community Guidelines, link on upper page;-) You are an oldie in Doha but a newbie on QL, so welcome here! You got your daily virtual world, it's so catchy!!

I agree with u drac, but what I saw also there are a lot of newbie when they ask something some of the anwers were very impolite, like to tell to go in search box (sometimes very rude) well maybe they don`t yet how to do with this site. or they just want to make a short way to ask, or maybe they didn`t find the rite answer, or maybe they just want to know if people respond to his/her post. so many reasons i think. So, if u don`t like to help those people don`t waste ur time to write for them, even to give silly answer. Anywayyy..this is a free site, u can do whatever u want, rite? ;p

My brother you are due, remember the weekly anger management techniques that we talk about.

Leave those camels alone and the Donkey, both are tired of you pestling them all the time.

The Donkey told me to leave him alone in the beach with those beautiful lads.

The camels are jealous of the Donkey sizing.

i didn't mention about "the level of passion that the invasion of Gaza has generated here in Qatar"

We know what's mean to lose our land.

Magyar tribes invaded the Pannonian basin and conquered Transylvania in the 11th century;

The collapse of the two multinational empires – Austro-Hungarian and Tsarist (1918), created the possibility for Transylvania to mould their destiny in freedom...

On December 1st, 1918 Transylvania united with the motherland, Romania.

400 years...

Actually I'm glad to see the level of passion that the invasion of Gaza has generated here in Qatar. In the US I am often asked, "Do people in the Middle East/Gulf/Arab world really care about Palestine?" And I am able to respond with a resounding "YES!" It's important for the rest of the world to know how we feel here.

Start up new posts and forum topics Dracula, the forum tab you have cut and pasted is "hot topics" so present Mid-East crisis is something many people in Qatar want to discuss.

Certainly, doesn't mean everybody has to.

I would suggest those who are bored of the Gaza discussion to start posting or sharing something new. And if you don't want to partake in the political discussions... then don't.

I totally agree people should be respectful to one another, but it's simply easier to ignore the trolls than trying to engage them. And once no one responds they generally disappear.

I hate hate!

Agree with you Drac, can't we have just ONE thread about Palestine? Why are there so many threads about the same topic?

Everybody loves to have a friendly and warm conversation in QatarLiving site.

Let’s just go over to QatarLiving.com to have a look?

I am against War!

The old year ended with such a tragedy in Gaza which might affected the one or the other family-member or friend of QL members.

(If so, I either wish this family member/friend to get well soon or in worst case please take my sincere condolences!)

But, why here?

Why in QL?

Try to draw a line in what we are posting.

Go head and be honest in your arguments and comments, but not too honest if you have never met the QL’s.

We are only QLers here; most of us don't really meet in real life.

How do you know that a QL member will take it?

If you don't know people, don't expect them to absorb your cynical posts.

Even friends can fallout at the littlest impoliteness.

Let's say I am your good friend and your girlfriend is really very ugly.

Do you like your friend to tell you the 'honest' words right in your face that your girlfriend is ugly?

No, right?

So the same goes to everyone here - you treat everybody like your friend.

Be honest, but polite.

Certain things can be honest, but certain things we better keep inside ourselves and shut up.

You are not people's leader, and in Qatar living site they don't even know you!

If you have put some biographies in your profile, people know at least who you are. People will respect you a bit and even rethink your harsh comments.

Of course, if you don't list out your stuff, people won't know who you are.

Then don't blame people for firing back.

In case anyone doesn't know what sarcasm is, here's an example:

Polite: Your post is not good, brother. Can be better …

Harsh: What are you posting? Really cannot make it.

Rude: Your post is so bad that I want to vomit.

In an argument, each party wants to win.

You can just stand back and let them win.

This also reveals the uselessness of an argument.

Bro, go out more and take ideas and post them here.

This is what this forum is for.

There is no point arguing, really.

I usually make my point and go, that's all.

THERE IS NO POINT IN CONTINUING AN ARGUMENT THREAD FOR HUNDRED OVER PAGES.

Everybody has a point and everybody wants people to accept their points.

This is not possible.

Take it with a pinch of salt.

Drac

Don’t forget, the website was created over 3 years ago, and creators’ intention at that time was probably just to give as much information as possible about Qatar and about living in this country, to help newbies to settle down in new country by providing them shared knowledge and experience of those who have been here for a while...

It is OUR credit, that website went far beyond the initially offered frames.

You can congratulate yourself and other QLers :)

I really wish folk wouldn't post pictures of dead people. It's not big, it's not clever, and it serves no real purpose. There are lots of other sites for this kind of discussion. Let's bring it back to Qatar please!

Did you Google it first?
