just buy any accessory to protect it like silicon cover, anti-scratch for screen and its holder/tag to prevent it from falling and bumps...

go for PSP i would suggest.Kids now a days are into tech, even before you know it they would master the functions and uses. And PSP has a lot of features, which you can also fiddle with.

he just bought the DS lite out of his own savings at Jarir bookstore for QR599 .

PSP is almost the same price as DS.

if you can afford it why not buy both.if not just let the child choose what he wants.

for both handhelds there are pros and cons. i have them both, for boys 8y/o and older maybe best is PSP slim, you can do almost everything in it like browse, view pictures ang watch movies. but for me i like DS more bec of the touch screen, ang there are also lots of homebrew that you can play with, DS light can browse the internet as well, though you have to purchase the browser seperately. the new DSi has a built-in camera.

Psp is better, you can save pics, music, videos, and the graphics are better plus more games available. the normal Psp costs 799 in Lulu, and 900 something for the slider Psp.

PSP for careless children not recommended.. However, buy PSP slim that can be modified (ex 5.50 Gen-A D3 or 5.00 m33-6) where in you can put downloaded games!.

I haven't try NDS.. sorry

for me kabayan! obviously Nintendo DS is purely for games only and will definitely enjoy by your kids. Unlike PSP... you can save pictures, watch movies, listen to music, search the internet (WiFi)and play games!!! everything you can do on Playstation but its compact that's why its called Playstation PORTABLE (PSP). I think its also more cheaper than NDS. You can also enjoy to have your own because its multifunction,I have my own PSP (red) and my daughter (in HSM case).
