Men: is it unrealistic for a beautiful, educated woman to expect an equivalent guy to pursue her relentlessly?
Women:If so, why are the exact opposite men always the ones who act this way?

No I don't think it's unrealistic. People might say opposites attract, but they rarely stay together. My husband is smart and attractive, and so am I :)
I assume that beautiful/edu. woman never entered any kitchen in her life but have a taste for home cooked food.
So she will look for someone who has more merits than her.
if im a guy, my answer will be NO...
for the womens side id say NOT ALL THE TIME... there are cases wherein, girls are approached by guys whose of her same league.
Also, there is such a thing as opposite poles attracts... that will answer your "why" question :)

Yes, it is unrealistic.
If her guy does not know cooking who is going to cook ?
Both of them will die hungry or become fat by eating KFC etc..
