Yup, nothin' like a good go around at 50 ft agl, that is, in a sufficiently powered aircraft - which I don't consider the Airbus to be. BTW, the cockpit of a commercial airliner is not exactly a state secret. You can get poster of them (I have one of the 75/767.)
i agree with nic..... if you are a bachelor then its a great job for only 4 to 5 years and eventually, you also get frustrated, the only thing which keeps you going on is passion and commitment.....
If you get married you can't take your wife with you on every flight you go, and your family suffers alot...... eventually then your family adopts the living and they damn care about you...
deepb, i have atpl frozen credits, and i am currently in the process of getting my credits unfrozen, i have done 319, 320 training with raiting from UAE Civil aviation, but due to Icao restrictions, i am having my 1500 hours tt flying which includes night flying on 319 and 320 to get my credits unfrozen........
saadm, good pics but even I am concerned if posting pics of cockpit was a good idea. Don't take any risks with your career. Please request MODs to remove the pics. My sincere advice as your well wisher.
Thank you Saad...I never got chance to overcome my fear...I have always been protected by parents and sisters...BTW right now I am overcoming with water fear...(learning swimming lol)
nic i have a atpl license with type raiting on 319, 320,321..... my designation is cadet pilot, but i wear 3 golden applets which is of a first officer...
You are not a pilot, but a student aspiring to become one, one day.
That day is still too far as you well know, you'll need thousands of hours of experience on each step of the ladder, before you can be considered a pilot.
Now, just an advice for your own sake: be very careful when you post unauthorized pictures showing equipment and people in operation which you are not authorized to publish.
wings of fire, in the older aircrafts like 747 classic dc10, dc8, pilots and the flight engineer had to check all the gauges, but now in the state if the art aircraft, when we come in the cockpit, we simply reset the switches on the over head panel, and if all switches are showing green light that means aircraft is ready to go, and we the checklists then, and if we see yellow light that means there is a problem in of the system.....
Qatar aeronautical college teaches flying, but it is around 500,000 QAR, job in QA....
beautynbrain, on the left hand side is the Navigation display and on the right side is Primary flight display which shows altitude, speed of the aircraft, Autopilot status....
beautynbrain, there is a computer in every aircraft which is called FMC ( Flight management computer ) we insert the flight plan in it, including the weight of the aircraft, fuel quantity. Then there is a display called naivgation display which shows you the course line, weather, other aircrafts through the a system call tcas ( Traffic collision avoidance system ) in 747 ND is in the center pedastal and in airbus 310, 318, 319, 320, 321, 330, 340 has 2 navigation display one on the captains side and one on the first officer side.....
dyonski, i have been posting pictures for the last 2 years, on famous forums like airliners.net, even etihad page on facebook.....
Nic, go to other forums and check out the pictures of airline crews, and aircrafts. I know the company restrictions, and i am within it....
Ghazalaz, nothing to worry about, inshallah nothing will happen....
Gloomy, you can sit in the cockpit but on the observer seat or what we call is jum seat.....
Mandiular, ya landing in 30 kts wind, and all set for landing and suddenly on the nd windshear alert comes at 500 agl, with verbal warning and as soon as we press toga thrust for go-around, that is the most, thrilling part of my flying experience.....
Alright... Be careful always. Things flare up and come out of the blue sometimes.....Imagine cutting a valentines cake in the office... a couple of employees getting sacked... and the spouse of one person committing suicide, as the spouse was on the other person's VISA......May be had a lot of loans or something too... Hard to believe, right...?

A pilot job is very stressful, tiring, and tedious. It brings a lot of sacrifice to the individual and his/her family!

Nope not a pilot, can't handle the grilling every 6 months for re-certification and re-training and all those odd timings.
deepb, how do you know about all this frozen atpl, all this process..... are you a pilot also....
deepb, i have almost 250 hours left.....
Good luck, you should be getting there soon.
