So who's listening Metallica's new album Death Magnetic ? I went to virgin but they still dont have it, so had to steal it " digitaly ". I dont know if there are many metallica fans in doha but we can find out here.
The tracks are awesome. Nice solo work by Kirk and James is as good as he was on rythm guitars. So far my fav is "Cyanide" and "suicide & redemption ". Must learn few riffs so i can play on my ibanez.
Anyone ?

Hell yeah...........
rant all you want but metallica is an institution already, i hate self righteous critics who think they know it all. metallica will always rock!

its all over the web. just download it.
Death Magnetic debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 490,000 copies in just three days of availability. It is the band's fifth album to debut at number one, making Metallica the group with the most albums to open at number one, surpassing The Beatles, U2, and The Dave Matthews Band. The album also had the highest first week sales of any Metallica album since 1996's Load.[55][6]
According to Billboard Magazine, in the week of September 20-27, Death Magnetic landed at number one on the following nine charts: Billboard Top 200, Billboard Comprehensive Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums, Top Digital Albums, Top Internet Albums, Top Tastemakers, and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks ("The Day That Never Comes").[56] In addition, nearly 60,000 copies were sold digitally, making it the week's number one Digital Album.[57] The album debuted at number one on the official United Kingdom albums chart after just three days of availability.

is it really must to buy through amazon and then wait for months to get them delivered to us. Use itunes pal or just give me the album names.
and Ride the Lightening take the cake. After that they stabilized and then petered out after the Black album.
Death Magnetic is not bad. I find it to be better than ST Anger which to me isnt hard to pull off. I dont think Metallica will ever put out anything as good as Master or Puppets or And Justice for All again though.
MD..not trying to censor Saw what happened to another when that was tried :!
Weasel..I'll read more carefully in future .. I'm just old and eyesite is gone
Corleone..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I have a copy of the album Death Magnetic...Downloaded it somewhere...
Metallica got lost after St Anger which was not at all metallica's sound. The idea of not puting any solo's dod not work at all. Although it was number 1 in many countries. But this album is a kick ass. You can also buy it on ebay if you really want to pay. I just couldnt wait !!
Nah, they buy stuff off there all the time. Not with gift vouchers. I'll ask how they do it.
Corleone - Infected Mushroom. I wonder why Goa Trance is more popular in Israel than in Goa?
tallg - It is possible if you get someone to buy you iTunes gift vouchers.
Qatari - I know plenty of people who buy from iTunes but don't have a Qatar credit card. Haven't done it myself (cos iTunes sucks!) but it must be possible.
corleone, I addressed your post because I had some semantic problems. It was all about language, not about music. I am a musician myself. And I don't listen to metallic rock or whatever. I listen to music. But everybody has his own taste. No offense included in this post.
quit bickering and listen to that awesome psy trance :)
vicky, are you trying to say to me that I should keep my mouth shut? What will happen to the threads then?
vickyk1 - No, that was a response to Magic Dragons Industrial Metal post
This is what music should always be like.
perfection in every beat, every second...
Dont ask!!!!
Nine Inch Nails..Heavy metal..would have to disagree..More Techno Rock
They lost their way in '94. Tool rules! A Perfect Circle ain't bad either.
MagicDragon - Yes Industrial metal is "manufactured" all right. Not at GM, but in a studio with lotsa synthesizer and drum sequencers etc. Watch Nine Inch Nails, the bands just one guy with lotsa gizmos for manufacturing music.

Wiki Definition-
Industrial music is a loose term for a number of different styles of experimental music, especially but not necessarily electronic music. The term was first used in the mid-1970s to describe the then-unique sound of Industrial Records artists. Since then, an extremely wide variety of labels and artists have since come to be called "Industrial."
The first industrial artists experimented with varying degrees of noise, production techniques and what, at the time, were considered controversial topics. Their production was not only limited to musical output. It also included mail art, performance art, installation pieces and other art forms.[1]
thank you, thank you, guys. Did you really think that I don't know what you are talking about?
lol, its not so much about the trash cans... Think of it as using trash can lids instead of the standard drum set. And bottles are maybe thrown to the ground or against various surfaces to get that crash sound, and cans are crushed... etc, what it is, is make innovative forms of music. Anything can be used to make music. that's the whole idea
But prefer Pat Boones version of it
"trash cans and bottles." Now I know what you mean, corleone, thanks.
hehe.. no MD, its named for the ambience it creates, which well, resembles a factory!
quoting wiki,
Industrial was a term meant by its creators to evoke the idea of music created for a new generation of people, previous music being more "agricultural". A fatalist-but-realistic, slightly misanthropic and often intensely dehumanized or mechanical atmosphere was present in the music and the utilization of gritty, hands-on technologies and techniques, rather than any concrete compositional detail, was a common practice. Another common matter of industrial music is the use of found objects, such as trash cans and bottles.
"The Day That Never Comes" Watch it on youtube. Lotsa suspense that never resolves :-)
What is an "industrial" metal band? Are they manufactured by General Motors?
Metallica havent evolved. They've tried, but maybe they're just too old for it. Listen to Tool, it's the best industrial metal band of this generation. And people are missing out by not being aware :)
Korn, Tool, Disturbed, In Flames, Amon Amarth, ...
I like the new video - "The Day That Never Comes". But "The Unforgiven III" is a major disappointment.
qatari, ohhh.. that sucks then. :S
the iTunes store is per country - so unless your Credit Card is from that country it won't work!
WHY BUY WHEN U CAN DOWNLOAD FOR FREE
Qatari, why don't you buy from iTunes?
i haven't heard the album but will pick it up when it comes out. hmmm....i wonder if we can buy mp3s on Amazon in Qatar?
My best Metallica albums are the black album and justice for all
I also read that the sound quality is not that good and lars drums are too loud. But honestly speaking its not that bad. After listening to the album i would say it is pretty good. Master of puppets is the best of them but compared to St Anger this album gives you the feel of old metallica.
I am big Master of Puppets fan
But i hear that Metallica are getting loads of flak for sub quality audio on their CD release.
So you definitely have the best version
If you are looking for quality Metal....get the greatest metal act in the world.... TOOL
