Life is already boring here and...

This has been discussed here many times and I know there might be hundreds of topics related to this subject but my mind does not get it. How are we expected to have good time here? I am not asking about suggestions because I tried many but being a sinle male is really hard here. As a football team we won a small cup amongst some other companies yesterday and we wanted to have fun today with friends. Decided to go Aquapark. Last week they allowed our friends to get in but when we reach there they said it is family day and they will not allow us to get in. I think bachelors shoud be banned to enter any public area or totally banned during visa application. :)

@Stealth: Maybe I am earning enough to spend for having good time while saving?

@Bea: "it's amazing how people want to move to a foreign country but only want to take the good things, not being prepared to accept that different country = different life." If we do nothing for improvement and accept everything as it is, we would be still living in caves. We would say we were born like that why would we try to change this. Meanwhile I am not against to provide "space" for families (I am empathizing with families and I undertsnad that they are annoyed while swimming with people brought by busses from Labour camps) but this shouldnt be preventing bachelors to have good time.

Anyway in one way or another things will change but I am not willing to wait that long.

Have a nice day.

Default Nic.. I guess you went on the wrong day! Every Saturday is an Expat Day as advertised in the Gulf times.

Does this mean no Locals allowed in today?

the "lady" thing here is weird!! they encourage u to have relations and u r not allowed to kiss ur gf anywhere u r not allowed to live with her or else !! shupid system. u have to get a gf to enter most of the clubs but u have to bye bye her after that! anyway i dont care about the system and if one day they catch me i will clearly mention this! someone should open a business renting a decent girl to be a partner just for the sake of the entrance :P

@Rizzo - I know what you mean :o) but in reality discrimination exists all over the world. Not to say I don't mind discrimination - I'm totally against it, but the more I study it, the more I think it's very hard to eradicate it completely... you always have to see the bigger picture and the problem is that we never get the full picture!

I already requested a leave for good from my company but they wanted me to stay for a few months more to stay here. So I am not willing to change anything. I just wanted to point out a prob for bachelors.

And for the families: yes it might be the only day to chill out for families but it is same for bachelors as well ;).

Anyway, will be rescuing my self soon. May god will help for the others :)

I accept your view but as a foreigner you should be able to accept some do's and don't's when you are in a different environment. I am about coming to Qatar by this month ending but I have not secure any job yet, what are my chances of getting one as soon as arrive. Thank Eddy

Family day sounds fine so when could the bachelors visit this places like Aqua park, corniche and so on. As it is Friday is the only day they get a day off from work and maybe that should now be changed to some other day or just any day that they would be welcome in those places that have family days.

it's amazing how people want to move to a foreign country but only want to take the good things, not being prepared to accept that different country = different life. One of the reasons expat jobs pay more is to compensate for the inconvenience of being away from home.... sorry, that's the way the cookie crumbles! :o)

are u complaining abt a day being reserved for the families?

well it is fair to me

because even we women tend to get bored and need entertainment once a week , dont we?

anyway life is not all abt entertainment

do some constructive activities, it will consume your time like nothing else

anyway always in life a man should have

plan a and plan b

if one fails the other

Anywhere else - hate to say this- you lads would have had a bevvy, chatted up some girls, had a curry, few of you may have been sick but generally you would have had a lads day!

Not over here- sorry about that.

They don't do that over here.

It was not about being foreigner/local, wearing suitable clothes etc. They were refusing everybody without a lady to enter. :)
