Katara hosts Senyar: A Pearl diving and fishing competition

The Katara Cultural Village is hosting its 3rd annual Senyar event from Wednesday, April 16 to Saturday, April 19.

The event starts from 10am to 10pm each day and aims to revive the ancient heritage of Qatar by following traditions and customs of ancient marine life.

Registration already closed, but the public can watch more than 650 people divided into 59 teams embark on the four-day competition, which kicked off yesterday at 4pm at the Katara Beach.

The event will conclude with a traditional five-hour Al Qafal ceremony honoring all the participants.
