I wish to donate some clothes...
Hello all in the forum,
I am going home on August 1 and before i go, i would like to give away a few old clothes. I have absolutely zilch idea where to start looking.
I tried searching through old forum topics and one of the only references was dated a year ago. So here i am, i need help. Where and how can i locate places where i could give away some clothes?
The clothes are in no way damaged. Its just that i am going for a wardrobe change and i didnt want moths to eat away at my older ones.
Without saying, any help would be highly appreciated. thank you all once again.

If you have something to give away you can call the lady Fiona Murray (her number on the bottom of thread) and i am sure she will be more than happy to pass it on to the needy person. I know she have done alot for the worker around Doha.
Darude posted this useful link in another thread : http://www.qcharity.org/english/

Alexa, hi! I'm on a work and play trip to the UK based in London then in a few days will be moving onto France and Italy with no work, phones, computers for a few weeks...yay! There's been lots of rain in the UK which we have enjoyed but many people have been subject to floods. How's your trip?
Hi Nov, mornings/evenings, not sure if they close in the afternoon...how is the summer going in Qatar?
Do you know what time they open to receive the donation?
Thanks X
Qatar Charity have requested that donations be handed in near the 'Thursday/Friday' souq at the beginning of the Industrial area.
Directions, drive up Salwa Road from Ramada signals and turn left at the R/A marked for souqs. On the right you will see a big sign saying 'Thursday/Friday' market. Pass this and it's either the next strip mall or the one after still on the right where you will see a set of traditional wooden doors amongst the usual shops. That is the place. Much of the goods are donated straight away to people who come looking for some charity. They accept anything in reasonable condition.
would Qatar Charity take your donation?

Your feedback is much appreciated. Now i have a lot of options to go on and i shall do so. Once again, thank you for taking the time and patience to reply to my query.
There's a drop off at Eid Charity near Lulu Hypermarket. My hubby dropped some stuff there a couple of weeks ago. Apparently you just drop it off near the door.

greeker,
the mittery kunja house is somewhere near the fort roundabout that been close for roadworks. I dont think you want to go there ... too much hassle. Do what R7 do ... drop it in the place behind the mall.
Me myself need to do some cleaning and will go there on of the morning.
There is a sheikh "blah blha blha" charity (no offence meant but cant remeber his name!) that has a drop off hole in the wall for clothes etc. Location is at Souq Al Ali side of the Immgration (Al-Gharraffa) R/A (flyover).
Basic directions - coming from TV R/A direction go straight under Immgration flyover and do a u-turn at next R/A. On appraoch to Immgration flyover take the last slip road entering souq Al-Ali and there are a number of villas on your right - you WILL SEE the sign for this charity on the wall of the 1st or second villa.
Good luck
There is a place near "The Mall" in airport Area called Qatar Charity where anyone can just donate whatever they have... they even have a drop off area where u just dump the stuff through this little door in there compound...
If you just leave the clothes in a bag by the side of the rubbish bin you know those poor guys that collect the waste will take a peak & put them to some good use. I think that everything we throw away here in Qatar gets recycled by somebody. There are so many labourers here who have nothing!
i have some stuff that i know i won't be using anymore and they all look brand new...
so i would also appreciate ur guides here.
If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.
There is a place near landmark - i dropped off my old clothes there thru Aisha who arranged it .
I would like to know if there is a way that you could donate your clothes to us but i am here in the Philippines it will be used for a fund raisoing activity here in Manila you may give it to my husband his e-mail add is [email protected]
Know where the house is? I could drop it off directly and not let our beloved PP get involved!
greeker ... if you dare to meet him, you can pass it to Premprakash. Alot of guys in mittery kunja house will appreciate your donation.
