Do you believe this? Demonig game
Mums of Dubai school pupils who have taken part in a “scary” social media craze have warned about the negative impact it has had on their kids.
The #CharlieCharlieChallenge has trended on Twitter and YouTube worldwide, with players uploading videos and tweets of the game.
The challenge involves placing two pencils on top of a piece of paper with ‘yes’ and ‘no’ written on it. The player asks a question to ‘Charlie’, reputed to be a demon, to see if it moves the pencil to answer the question.
.......
With the lights off, the players say: “Charlie, Charlie, come play with me,” followed by a question.
he said: “At first, I thought this is silly, but when the pencil moved by itself it was scary. All of my friends said they didn’t blow on it. I know I didn’t blow on it, so how did it move?”
what I feel is that when many people repeat the wrong belief, more people start believing and this vicious circle goes on.. Till now nobody has been able to prove or disprove "the spirit", so people are afraid of unknown.
MM: the premise is that the game calls a "spirit" which then moves the pencil in response to questions
