CANARY BIRDS

Galgo
By Galgo

I just bought 3 canaries from souk Waqid. They were sad and in bad conditions. The problem is I have no experience with these kind of birds and one female put 2 eggs already. I am reading all about them through internet but any help will be welcome.
Do anyone knows if there is an association or council for aviculture?
Thanks to all !!!

Galgo, the birds are coming back to the cage to hatch the eggs, and not because they like you!

If they could shift the eggs they would have gone somewhere else. From a small tweety-birds viewpoint you may look like a huge monster.

Xena, just ignore Eco. Everyone else does. People who make such bitter and nasty comments over and over again are sad and lonely.

I actually feel really sorry for her.

does posting stupid comments come inherently with radicalized ideals?

i hope the birds are fine. and do NOT set them free, they are canaries and most likely captive born. if you set them free, they will not know how to fend.

i say, get a little box, and some leaves with natural cotton for bedding. the temperature around should not be cold for breeding the eggs.

I don't like to have the birds in cages, for that reason the cages are open all the time for them. Believed or not they go out and come back to the cages for get the food.

Because these canaries born in captivity they can not be released otherwise could died.

I think they are better with me than in the souk or other hands.

to jail them, they are not created to adorn our interiors and you should read Canary habitat before giving your cruelty to animals advise

I am not really a bird lover but i think these birds cost more than the laborers in Industrial area so people care more about them.

By anonymous• 30 Jun 2010 15:26

Yeah, and the laborers in the Industrial area are meant to live, not just survive. Totally inhumane.

Does anybody care? Or do something?

What if we will reverse the situation..you are sa bird and they are the human..will you be happy treated like that? OSAMA is right, set them free!

I was talking about your comment -

'Hope one day you are caged ...

InshaAllah'

Its not for you to judge... stop justifying yourself...

FIRST OF ALL KEEP THEM IN A/C ALL THE TIME BECAUSE THIS HOT WEATHER WILL BE TOO MUCH FOR THEM TO BEAR. FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, KEEP THE CAGE OUT IN THE SUNLIGHT FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. KEEP FRESH WATER AND PUT BIRD FOOD FOR THEM. KEEP THE CAGE OUT ABOUT 30 MINUTES BEFORE SUNSET AND PUT THEIR NEXT FEED WITH FRESH WATER. ONCE A WEEK GIVE THEM A BATH UNDER THE SHOWER OR YOU MAY EVEN SPRAY WATER ON THEM (THEY LOVE THAT TYPE OF BATH TOO). TRY TO KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM THE CAGE AND DONT GO TOO CLOSE TO THE CAGE. MOVE ABOUT IN THE HOUSE AND AT TIMES TRY TALKING TO THEM, WHISTLING AND SINGING. SINCE EGGS ARE ALREADY LAID (2 OF THEM) TAKE SOME COTTON AND THEN HOLD THE EGGS AND PUT THEM INTO A BOX IN WHICH SHE CAN SIT AND HATCH THE EGGS. SHE HAS TO FEEL CONFORTABLE. THE REST IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING. NORMALLY NO MATTER HOW MANY EGGS ARE LAID, MAXIMUM 2 OR 3 WILL BE BORN. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING AFTER THAT, THEY KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR BABIES. WELL, ALL THE BEST AND DO KEEP ME INFORMED ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENTS.

person I have ever come across...

Have you trained yourself to be so? Or does it just come naturally?

Galgo, you can find canary food in most supermarkets.

Hope the eggs hatch:-)

Monster- I dont think they will fly away without their eggs.

Galgo- Regarding their food, there are bird food available in the malls. You can feed them the same and make sure water is available for them all the time.

Just give them sometime to set at your place.
