Italian beaches are great. The men are oily, hairy and the thongs match the silver chain .. 

LP - Italy will always be like that.. Qatar will always be like this with a lot of blank stares..:(

Pilgram - that's what happened to me and my housemate when a man followed us all the way to our flat. We called the police but didnt do anything bec. we dont know who followed us. So i guess what they're trying to imply is: "ask the QID no. then we will help u.."

You should go to a beach in Italy! You would be surprised how 'peaceful' Qatar is!

I like how people think this kind of thing isn't taken lightly in Qatar.  I've been harrassed multiple times and called the police and all they said is "Do you know who they are?  No.  Well there's nothing we can do, call us when you know who they are."

Tinker - We are a group of girls and boys.. It was so brave of them to do such thing when in fact we're not all girls.. Police cars are nowhere to be seen and they stopped following us when more groups of people came.

Smoke - I've been here for almost 2 years,it was my first time to experience it.:( I know some men are not used to hang out with girls but surrounding a group of people reached another level.

I've been to sealine with a family,it didnt happen..it's really different when you are a group of single people..

What are you new to Qatar or something? If you are then wait a while, nothing will be strange anymore.

Tinker - It was my first time to experience something like that. Why they have to go to our place to swim rather than go straight from where their cottage is located? that's why i found it strange..

Pilgram - It's just pathetic. We were swimming.then they followed. When we went to the cottage,they went back to their cottage,when we came back to swim,they followed again..STRANGE.

Most people who are going to sealine are group of friends..so not as family friendly as dukhan and other beaches.

LOL Sealine! thats not a beach thats a death trap! Try Dukhan, Khor, and whats the name of that place before khor??? Grrrr cant get it now.

Drsam - free chimpanzees are from Austria..if you have seen the video you'll be happy for them. I'm not happy with what those men did. I thought it's just strange why they have to surround us though they're not doing any harm.

Which beach was this? there are many beaches in Qatar where you could find it peaceful and family friendly

Today I had been to a small juice stall in old airport area..there i saw two western ladies sitting with a man and they were chatting and chatting.they were wearing such short dresses with big low necklines that i was scared if they get harmed or question by someone...we are in middleeast area and u are expecting locals to follow ur culture?A small gesture of  paying respect to local culture will not harm anyone..isnt it.why people dont realise it...

that's how the race riots started in australia, arabs misbehaving on a beach.i didn't realise they were deported to qatar. 

did they free chimpanzee in australia?  poor things. they must be starving to find bananas between the eucalyptuses.

strange. on the opposite; usually they tend to not look. maybe if a girl pass in front of them, they might follow her with their eyes for a brief moment. but to stand up and go stand like a tree arround her????

I've been with friends in beaches for a coupla times,it was my first time too to experience something like that.

DK - No,I'm with my friends so Im not alone when they surrounded us.. and we're not even all girls but they have the guts to do that. They're not doing any harm though but surrounding us was a strange act. Pathetic and they cant even understand English or maybe pretending not to understand..

No, I haven't yet seen arab men getting together and surrounding a single lady at the beach and I don't think they could ever do such things in a country like Qatar.

Are you sure this happened to you or to someone that you have witnessed? Or is it just another attention seeking thread, games women usually play !!
