Are there any Eastern Europeans around?
Morning!
I'm due to arrive in Qatar later this month! yay!
Well I was wondering if there are any Eastern Europeans around who are able to offer lessons in Russian, Slovak or Czech as I'm guessing language schools are going to be as rare as hen's teeth!
Why? Well in the UK I have a close circle of friends from those three countries who I've picked a little bit of language up from, as well as having studied Russian for a year; Yes, I'm rubbish and know a whole bunch of useless stuff (mala zelena zaba, for example), but I can hold great conversation with a 3 year old slovak child :p and I'm keen to improve (if only to supprise some friends next time I'm in Slovakia).
Willing to pay if the price is right.
I'm interested in learning either Slovak or Russian. I've been doing a bit of Russian on www.livemocha.com but it's no substitute for a real live person.
As for cost....I'm not sure what the going rates would be, pick a number! As long as it's reasonable I'll pay it.
How much would you pay per hour for lesson?
What kind of language would you like to learn?
1.East Slavic: Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Rusyn
2.West Slavic: Czech and Slovak
3.Upper and Lower Sorbian
4.Lechitic languages: Polish, Pomeranian/Kashubian, Silesian and extinct Polabian
5.South Slavic: Western subgroup composed of Serbian, Slovene, Croatian, Montenegrin and Bosnian
6.Eastern subgroup: Bulgarian and Macedonian (Cyrillic script)
You can also do it online

Can I just make clear that I'M the one LOOKING for lessons; I'm NOT OFFERING....you would have to be crazy to want lessons from me in any subject other than science.

Hourly rate......1 bigmac meal n a bottle ov brown ale!!
Well Google sure is on the ball...I just noticed that there is now an ad for a Russian "Dating" site on the left of my browser:(
Not exactly what I had in mind.
Thanks! I may try there:)

HE WHO DARES WINS
yea, that's the one; for some reason one of my friends decided to teach me the names of animals in Slovak...not exactly useful when trying to get directions, but I kicked ass at Kosice zoo:)
Got to start somewhere I guess...
similarities up to some point...
i think i got the meaning:
mala zelena zaba= Little Green Frog..
right?
I am pretty good with the languages..:P
It's actually Slovak (Although I missed out a stress to lack of font), although I wouldn't be supprised if it's the same in other Slavic languages as they all share similarities.
I'm also a little disapointed to see some people try to mock my question. Heaven forbid I have an interest to learn a language many of my friends speak:(
Nothing anymore since you already taught them to me :D Thanks for your kind assistance :D Domo arigato..
oh..Japanese! i know few words: Seppuku and Harakiri.. and also Hirosima and Nagashaki.. i can teach you these words.. how much are you willing to pay?
What time the lessons start? :D Anyone offering Japanese lessons? I would definetly sign up for that :D
he said he wants to OFFER the lessons, not to practice these languages..well.. in this case I can offer lessons in Italian (i can teach up to 15-18 words), French (about 10 words).. oh! i can teach arabic on very high level - about 1050 words, 1000 out of them are counting from 1 to 1000...:)
and i can teach "I love you" in a lot of languages..:)
... what do you think guys, can i make good money??..
My serbian language skills are extremely limited. Was working in Kosovo in 2001-2002..
Buna seara tuturor!
Well yes Finn it is, like I said, even grammar is correct:)
Dobar dan:)
That looks like serbian language :D Dobar dan.. :D

I knew some words of Albanian, but I didn't practice for a long time.
Is that St. George on your avatar?
Any Albanians around?
I want to practice my 22 words of Albanian whilst wearing my albania t shirt and my albania flip flops...
I've seen some eastern europeans around..........they do alot in the 'hotel trade'.....
Are you sure that "mala zelena zaba" is on those mentioned languages? Russian is not for sure, for Slovakian and Czechian I am not sure, but it sounds exactly like my language:) even gramar is correct.
