Are internet friends real friends?

eliashamzo
By eliashamzo

Hello Everybody ...

So here's my big Q escapist. Would you consider your online friends real friends?

I feel like this is an ever growing part of what the internet has become, with social networking becoming more prevalent everyday, can someone you meet online qualify as a friend? can they be a better friend than someone you can touch?

Is it a good thing to become better friends with people online than those in real life?

awaiting your participation , and looking forward to listen to real friendship stories that subsist through QATAR Living .

u need first to define what is a "friend" according to u?

for u to get an answer to ur question, ask urself the folowing questions:

what are the qualities of a friend?

is everyone u know or meet in real life ..is ur friend?

what is the difference between a friend and acquaitnace?

to meet i can have a friend from everywhere; online or in real life.not everyone i konw in real life is my firend and the same goes with people i meet online.......

i have things i need in a person to consider him or her as a friend....so when i find the qualities i need in a person, he or she is my friend even if i meet the person online.

have met good and bad people online...

The worst being those that pretend to want one thing, and when you meet them, they expect something totally different.

Hmmm... can think of numerous people like that!!!!

eliashamzo: You are right. I think that when you first meet someone and spend time with him (or her) you aren't really meeting the person, but rather you are meeting that person's "representative." It makes sense, though. I mean, everyone had his own baggage and it's a bit off-putting to lay everything on the table in the first meeting.

By eliashamzo• 1 May 2010 17:09

i totally agree with khawaja .. that not only seeing people can tell if they are good or bad .. especially when others feels that they are the test to gain our trust they will show their best .

even unfortuntely how many people we met in life and become real friends and after time or years we where shoked by their reality .

totaly agree with you khawaja .. and this the only cases when internet friendship remains and turn to be real one also when they share honesty and transperancy from the begining .

you right mathboy its rare nowadays to find true friends online or in reality . coz people changed and accepted the new low norms of life by being un real .

shera . thanks from the participation which proove that internet friend somtimes can be more close then the ones we see everyday .

spongebob .. also i would like to thank internet for the things we get trhough it .

khattak . i m a new friend :D

Elias: Totally. Online, I try to stay true to who I am in life. So when people meet me, they know what to expect. That said, not everyone is so forthcoming. Happygolucky is right to be skeptical.

By happygolucky• 30 Apr 2010 13:24

I dont think so. Cant trust someone on the internet leave aside to consider him/ her even a prospective friend. Mostly people fake themselves on internet.

By eliashamzo• 30 Apr 2010 13:17
eliashamzo

in such cases ,, if the person we went to meet is like this ..

if we really like him .. we will help him to feel secure in real not just over internet .. that s why friends exist to add new things to our life and make changes

Well, it's true that the internet certain reveals another part of a personality. Some people find it easier to open up in a sort of anonymous forum like this. But then you meet them in person and they clam up and don't talk. So which is the "real" side?

By eliashamzo• 30 Apr 2010 13:05
eliashamzo

i wouldnt call it curiosity .. its just exchanging points of view .. that somtimes internet can show us the real side of person more than reality .

By Khawaga• 30 Apr 2010 12:55
Khawaga

Elias: I think there is more to your curiosity than meets the eye. What are you really asking?

By eliashamzo• 30 Apr 2010 12:53

VISPER .. Do u think when you will see him you might have a different idea then now . or u feel u will be more close .

khawaja . if u met a person over internet and u really like but he live far . are u ready to take the steps to do effort to see him .

rezy . depens on what webcams ur talking about here hehe
