another accident in Doha
An uninsured delivery motorist hit my car today, he came right out into rush hour traffic and hit my vehicle.
The police were called and the guy's manager was begging me not to report the accident to the police, he even offered money and said he knew a place where i can go fix the damage his driver caused without a police notice! i said nope we are going to the police station and that's that!
The driver a 19 yr old Indian refused to come to the police station started kissing my hands begging me not to call the cops ): but i had no other option ): was crying said he was new in the country going on a delivery duty and on top of that The vehicle involved hasn't been insured for over 2 years.
So finally I literary garbed him and pushed him into my car and drove him to the police where's now locked up for a civil crime. police issued me a clearance and the retro will pay for the damage.
I feel sorry for the guy but it's not like I had another option. sorry.
I had the same issue but with a Qatari ...the guy was with no licence nor Insurance ... he resolved it .
Nomad: The policeman on the phone asked me to come with the guy to their station but the delivery guy refused to move and after knowing the vehicle was not insured ( uninsured=unregistered) and he had no Qatari ID frankly I was afraid if I let this guy go now he’s run ‘n I will never find him.
Why the need to 'grab and push' when the cops were already called. Its like taking the matter in your own hands.
britexpat: I agree, but talking about it in a public forum is kinda old school lame tho.
As for the guy I have no idea what became of him.
But without a Qatari RP or driving licenses I don’t see him getting out of there any time soon.
At least i'm sound like dumb , not like a gay!!!
You know better than to answer to a troll. Please.

Frez it is not peeping it is a public profile. Peeping means "Look quickly and furtively at something, esp. through a narrow opening". what is so narrow opening in our profile? Everybody can see and look at it. U sounds like 'dumb'!
No personal attacks please.

And what business has you snooping around my profile?
LOLS red.averroes lot of Trolls in QL with fake ID'S
Marco No offense meant but im just curious in ur profile.. Ur nationality is Qatari but u joined the group of Muslim EXPATRIATES Association... Not making sense bro.. Hope u r not a troll or else all ur stories does not have credibility. Im sorry I do hate trolls.
Aaaarrrggghhhhh
That’s one of the most hilarious dream for MN!
I just hope that the lady doesn't suddenly turn up at Marco's door carrying a little bundle of joy :O(
First a gal calls and accusses you of sleepig with her...:(
Then this chaps bumps ur car ...:(
Wat next ?
Sulieman throwin a rotten egg on ur face ? :)
JK man....
Hope you are OK ?
driving without a license can end you up in jail.
Ok, then all is in order as is. Well done Marco !
NM: He did not have an ID at all. so no RP and no driving license either.
Brit: Yup I'm turning to all of you wonderful people for a rant!
You are going through a bad patch..
First a girl calls and accuses you of sleeping with her and now this guy damages your car..
I hope there is nothing more to come :O(
Marco, did he not have an ID or did he just not have it on him?
Look, this guy messed up, no question, and you did the right thing. For sure.
But if his fault was only to hit your car, and locking him up is not what the law says, then he should not be in jail.If he indeed is here illegally, then sure, he should be deported.
Feb: I'd have done just the same (:
NM: locked up for being out on the roads with no Qatari ID or driving license.
Brit: I hope not, but probably.
LLR: true
RIP: hmm I'm not sure they have.
Zafirah: Unfortunately.
Would you have done the same if it was one of your nationality?
So finally I literary garbed him and pushed him into my car and drove him to the police where's now locked up for a civil crime.
What a brave man your MN..............
It is partially his mistake as well.. if he drives a car he should have proper papers.. he is 19 years old.. not a kid..
Brit, and in the meantime somebody sits in jail.....wow.
It's easier to lock him up then chase the owner or manager who might have wasta..
They'll blame the non insurance on an oversight or the fault of a clerk who missed the renewal date..
Good move...One brainless driver off the road now, and hoping for more to come.
The police should charge the sponsor. It is his company that is operating in an illegal way. Has qatar leanrt nothing from the Villagio deaths?
U did right thing. Well done
hope the other buddy will be ok. ..soon :-)
Why was he locked up? Do people go to jail for bumping into a car here?
I mean that the car was not registered is surely not his fault!
Uninsured car means...unregistered car....? Just a bit confused.
It's bad enough the loss of selling value I'm enduing because of this accident.
Brit: fixing my car in an illegal way is a crime in itself and i'd never do that, however I wish there was something I could do to make it easier for the bloke, unfortunately I don't.
What about his wife, children and parents that he has to support :o(
Thats it! :)
I remember farari ki sawari.......
you r sorry for the boy. inshallah. life is a learning curve. let him learn faster. it s better for all of us.
Oh damn MN, just 12 hours back I noticed that ur LC having some scratches, I don’t wanna point out anymore, BTW u have done the right thing, that vehicle 200% illegal so the owner have to be punished!
good so what.its over n done with.is there something you are not able to express here?
and yes, you did the right thing...
poor fellow, he needs to suffer for his manager's action.
that's good we have to follow the rules of the country
Fatimah: thanks sis, the police should look his stupid manager instead, cuz he's the reason why this helpless delivery guy is in this mess now.
AlHamdulillah, To have escaped unhurt.. As for your reaction then, Allahu Alam, you did the right thing. Hope and pray you get your vehicle repaired with ease as well.
llr/theo: i'm just glad the guy is safe, i could of killed him today.
O_o
"he even offered money and said he knew a place where i can go fix the damage his driver caused without a police notice!"
Salamt m3lem :O)
I am glad you are safe.
