Hi. Is the Aikido Club in Al Naseer accreditted by Aikikai Hombu Dojo Japan?

I am a Nidan with Aikikai, so I'm looking for Aikikai Dojo here in Qatar to continue my training and preparation for Sandan exams.

Thanks for the response.

I used to do a little grappling (submission style wrestling) back in the States. This is something that I would be interested in trying.

Right now there are 5 of us plus sensei, usually 3 - 4 guys showing up on any given day. Potential # 6 showed up last weekend, so we'll see if he's there again this Friday.

Yes...I attend the new club that meets at 1:30pm on Fridays & Saturdays. It's a very good class & the sensei is top-notch. We also do wooden weapons techniques two mornings a week (04h30) at the corniche.

Cost usually runs about QR 20-25 per class, which goes for dojo rental at Karate Academy.

My friend - you need to go and teach him since he is so useless, tell me when and I'll come to join you. I'm totally free on Fridays and Saturdays.

sorry for this late reply.

the friday classes were held at 15:00 hrs and the evening classes (sensei Frank) at 21:00 hrs.

I don't know whether the times are the same , my karate class has shifted of 30 min, since 3 weeks ago.

Ossu!

Hi, have you attended that class yourself? How much does it cost?

If you find Aikido to be useless, then you're certainly welcome to NOT join the class. To each his own...

May I know which class you're referring too? Is it the 5:00PM - 6:30PM class? Thanks for your info. Peace!

I originally joined the evening classes the classes are good but you finish late.

I did go and watch the friday class, the style is slightly different and more similar to the goshin jutsu that I practice with my karate style, very practical with direct movements.

Very enjoyable style, pity only once a week.

Karate Academy offers classes a couple of nights a week, although I can't comment on the quality.  I think they start at 9:00pm, but not sure of the days.

There is also a small group that rents the Karate Academy dojo every Friday at 1:30pm for Aikido training offered by Siyavush Sensei.  Siyavush is sandan (3rd dan)...good class.
