there is no milonga in doha, nearest is Dubai, Beruit and Istanbul.

But I can teach tango.......salon and neuvo tango style having danced tango for about 3 yrs now in mainly Dubai and London.

It's a lifelong journey of learning and have learn't the proper way through much hard work and of course I can still learn much by teaching.

I know that Guillaume tried to start a tango scene here in Doha but with limited success. Now that Guillaume has left Doha I can give private dance lessons to singles or couples if anyone would like to try and start a tango scene here. It's pretty intense and will take the guys much longer, I'm afraid

So if anyone is interested please call me on 55317409

prettyme, tell me more about the salsa classes. How much? What time on Saturdays? What levels are the lessons? I used to go to a few places back home but the gender breakdown was usually way too many women and not enough men to go around. Can't imagine that being a problem here...

I have just moved to Doha from Dubai where I danced tango regularly with BNF and appeared in some of their student shows. You can dance tango 4/5 times a week in Dubai, there are many teachers mostly the best are from Columbia.

Is there anyone really interested in dancing tango here in Doha ?

I am currently in the process of a job offer in qatar,

I am an australian male living in London,

I have however spent 15 months in sth america and love the tango having had lessons etc, as for the equal mix of people etc

The lessons in Beunos Aires they will get 2 guys dancing together if there are no women,

The story goes that foreign men from europe arrived in argentina in the turn of the 19th century to make money on the plains of argentina and ended up penniless and could not get home so were trapped in the city to fend for themselves and were the backbone of inventing the tango and had no women to dance with, it was after the basic steps were put together that they went in search of women to dance with and ended up in the seedy brothels of 1910 beunos aires outshowing each other to dance with the women, The women would then develop their own moves dancing together and integrated the steps into the mens moves to have the tango as you see it today,

I am interested once i arrive in qatar in tango lessons,

I am sure it would be easy to learn the basic steps and so on fom a book and eagerness to learn,

The teacher told my in argentina if you can imagine the beat inside your head you are half way there to learning the tango,

Hi, we are Romina and Gabriel from Argentina. We woudl like to tell you that from many years on we have been professionally working in Tango, dancing, teaching lots of student, organizing workshops, festivals and milongas. Some people who contacted us through internet forums and some friends of our european students told us that the interest in the Argentine Tango is awaking in Qatar. We are really interested in cultural interchanges, we love learning other cultures and show ours, that’s why we would like to visit your country and interchange our knowledge with you. One of us, Gabriel, is descendant of Muslims, this is the strongest reazon to be specially interested in lerning about culture in Qatar and offering in return the essence of Tango dance.

At this time we are on tour in Europe, taking our culture through Netherlands, Italy and England. If you are interested in our proposal, we could get in touch and agree some dates to organize classes, exhibitions or fest where we could show you our art.

If you need we can send you later our curriculum vitae and more information about our method of education.

Waiting your answer, Romina y Gabriel.

Hello everyone,

I have just arrived, two weeks ago, from France and I do love dancing Tango.

Unfortunately, it seems that there is no Tango there!!

Someone proposed to create some Tango classes. I saw that people are interesting by learn it.

So I could try to teach Tango for everyone who want to try it. As it has been told, we should be equal number between male or female (if not, we can try to arrange ourselfs).

I am also dancing Salsa and Swing, anyone know about a place there ??

Hope someone will answer to this post,

See you soon
