Any Aussies out there know if there is anyway of watching AFL in Doha. We are moving from Australia to Doha in August and would hate to miss the Grand Final specially when my team is playing so well and might be in the grand finial.
I am coming over, subject to some more discussion with my prospective employee sometime before the end of the year. Can you tell me if there is much of an aussie community?
I certainly would be keen to get together with any aussies and watch a game if that was possible. My 9 year old boy, who doesn't know about all this yet, is addicted to footy so if there is anyone we would all be keen to know if anyone gets together for a "kick-to-kick" at anytime.
If you want to know anything about the footy let me know. I am sure you know the usual web-sites such as afl.com.au or realfooty.com.au They are probably some of the best resources.
Some of the cable TV (fox sport) does a one hour highlights program late at night. I use the AFL web site and connect into one of the radio stations to catch a 'live game'. Aussie Legends do a few games. You must be a Magpie fan as they are doing well other than a couple of hiccups

Mate,
Showtime shows one live game a week, plus all the finals are live on it. Its worth getting it.
well the older version of TVU player used to work fine. BUt the newer version is giving me problems. anybody has got any idea about it.
loaded TVU you this morning, network 10 working fine. He comes AFL live all summer long.
TVU is another possibility if you have ADSL with QTEL.
They have channel 10 from Australia which will have some AFL games in 2007.
As I am not yet in Qatar I do not know if it works!
Maybe someone in Doha with QTEL ADSL could try it and report back...

Thanks Magpie for your reply. You made my day. I was a little worried I was going to miss out on my footy. Is the reception over the net ok?
I'm a West Coast Eagles fan. Maybe the Magpie's and Eagles will be in the grand final this year. Lets hope!
Thanks again
