Hi,

I am a singaporean age 39 years old. I have got a job offer to work as a Logistics Manager and is considering this opportunity. Inclusive all allowances at 17K (QAR) per month excludes accomodation, will I be able to save around 5K?

Any advice out there would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
fnd

You can easily save more than 5k, even if you happen to be a spendthrift.

Since accommodation is the most expensive affair in Qatar which will range 8000-10000 for family. Rest everything is manageable, will not cost you much.

So welcome to Qatar.

Friend, If the accomodation and schooling expenses for ur kid(if u r married) are provided by the company...then u can surely save nearly 8-9k.

If u r single, then also u can save the same only, bcoz you might need to spend more money on outside food..

The package that they gave you is already good excluding accomodation (rental is something that is expensive in qatar). if you are coming with your family, you can only save a little or non at all since education here is also quite expensive (unless, this is provided by your company). If your coming as a bachelor, saving monies will all be up to how you will live your life here in Qatar. if you are not that extravagant person then, you can save more than 5K.

Dear All, please read the question twice before you answer it? EXCLUDING ACCOMMODATION means a lot here in Qatar!!!!!

Also, not only the house rent other utilities, phone bills, TV+Internet, School fee etc. will cost you a lot.

For a family (with one child)this might be just enough for a comfortable life style. Otherwise you can all share one room and save.

I guess u r married(coz ur age is 39). If you are married and plan to stay here with family, then u could save around 8.5K monthly. If you are staying alone then u could save around 13 K. (depends on ur life style).

This is asper an average life style. U can find average good family accommodation for around 4500 to 6000. Food will cost around 1000 for the whole family. Transportation is quite difficult here. u have to arrange with some private pick up service (that is cheaper). Mobile also expensive here.

Dear frd, life is too difficult in QATAR..If u r a BACHELOR 17k will work coz u can get bachelor accomodation somewhere in the range of QR 1000-3000...

But if u r a MARRIED,u have to think a lot..Accomodation r costly here..A decent two bedroom flat will cost u around QR 8000-10000..it could even go more..Then u need to spend on ur monthly grocery, ur mobile filling, party out if u r a party goer etc etc..

So if a company is gud, u can come here but u need to curtail ur un-necessary expenses...ALL THE BEST..
