I am a British radiographer who has been approaced by the qatar sports hospital regarding a job. I am wondering what kind of pay I should reasonably expect. They have said highly negotiable, and have included flights, accom, travel and insurance.

For information, read my post to Jolene re:dental Nurse

My suggestion, follow through with your application process and if you are successful in being offered a position, then speak to people like us who work here! Take what those who are giving advice based on rumours and what a 'friend of a friend's cousins wife's father" told them.

Good luck.

Someone should take pictures to prove we all turned up. A cunning idea, me thinks.

I made the mistake of having a few, went back to my flat and woke up realising it was 12am. So to make up I'll be popping around after training and getting a few sly shots (of alcohol) down my neck. The downside is those slave drivers at work will expect me in the morning at 9am, so if i do get slaughtered i'll need someone to put me in a cab.

I have retired it. What happened to you last night? We kept going until 3.00am. Tyler changed his nationality to Canadian at around midnite and things deteriorated from then onwards.

Go to the website. On the top right you will see 'jobs'. Double click on that, and the link will open. Scroll down and at the botton you can see the listings. Double click on one and teh requirements, etc will come up along with a contact.

Deoscientiaque - WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR INFORMATION???????

In my 4 months here, I have been very happy, we have a great staff and I am not sure where you are hearing it is an unhappy work environment. Maybe perhaps I have only been here 4 months, but in my 4 months time here I don't know of a single expat taht has been sacked - with or without reason.

Do you have some hidden agenda against our hospital???

Expect around QR30k/month, plus housing and kids education. BUT, I wouldn't go near the place for any amount of money. Staff turnover is very high, decision making is irrational, it's an unhappy work environment and they have a nasty habit of sacking expats at whim without reason and without any termination payments. Not a nice situation if you have kids at school, resigned your job back home, etc. They also tend to make empty promises e.g. agree on a salary beforehand, then change the offer once you're there!

They also have a significant number of problems with funding, consequently salaries are often not paid for several months.

My advice - give the place a VERY wide berth.
