chiken fresh whole chiken wheging almost 500G = 16 Qr
Fruits and vagetables = 8 Qr/Kg
Hope it will be enough.
With 17 years experience, you should expect atleast 20 - 25,000 riyals.
Minimun SAVING: QR-2000/month

think twice before any action. for an experience like your's this is surely very less offer. seems ELS job. middle east now very expensive, you hardly save any thing is this salary. anyway, choice is yours.....
To have something u think u deserve it would not be considered 'greedy'. 17 years experience is not a small thing u have. u could have become senior/lead engineer in 'senior staff' level. think what 'crv' said to u. that is really happened. many friends of mine said this has been a mistake since the beginning. they are well experienced degree holder but did not know that there are 'senior level' when they're recruited. they thought it was a good 'offer'. at least u know that 1st. opportunities will always be there in this booming country. all Q companies here will continuously have opening vacancies for any level. all of them will obviously need work force like u. once u work here, u cannot move to other company easily. but it's all up to u..gud luck
Dear Friend,
The package seems to be ok except for the salary amt. You need to negotiate more for your exp of 17yrs. And also check for the position cadre.
The Main problem after joining Ras gas would be your vast experience. You will find your self working under a lower exp guy with better salary more than you. You would have to do all the required jobs from scratch.
If you are from India, you will have laborers to do all the lower level jobs. But here those jobs are also the responsibility of you. So get prepared for that too.
I do not want to frighten you but life is more than monetary gain. Get a Good Salary for the job which suits your Exp, so that you can forego the cadre that you’re enjoying now.
The schooling will be sponsored but the books are your liability. Its Expensive here.
You need to get a Car here to Mobilize your self.
Grocery is also expensive
The City it self is Expensive…………..
If you restrict your spending you will save. If you want to enjoy an abroad life then Salary Negotiation is required.
Apart from all this factors it’s a OK package.
Simply calculate the earnings and reserve for your future. Definitely take up the job. If not satisfied you can as well switch over to another job in Gulf, additionally you have an oversea exp-Take it that way.
All The Best
From the kind of questions appearing in this site, I strongly believe, people become more and more GREEDY....
QR.9500 + accommodation + education allowance
THIS IS NOT A BAD SALARY.... I WILL SAY GOOD.
but people still asking for cost of milk, meat ??????????
LISTEN,, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE LIVING IN QATAR WITH JUST QR. 950 !!
and there may be people who advise 9500 is a "POOR" salary
For 19years Experience , the salary seems to be low. Otherwise this looks to be good. If this is your first abroad job then take this as a good opportunity.
Yup for that much experience QR 9000 should be your starting basic in RasGas. really my dear..or you apply for entry level engineer post I think..or, the worst, you're applying for intermediate post. for company in Q network, that much salary is for intermediate level staff still. Oh yes you are, you are only have 24 days leave. There is a 'senior level staff' that will suit more to your experience, I think..and you deserve it. but if you think this is the best, that amount would be more than enough.
doha is very expensive thank more ..
Salaam,
I think 9500/- per month is not bad to start with a samll family. Since Company is taken care of your housing and children education + medical. Also if i am not wrong 27000 furnishing is not a loan it is an allowance which they write off after 4 yrs ?
Regarding meat, we eat Indian and Pakistani meat only so the india meat currently cost of India Meat is QR.25 per kg and Pakistani meat cost QR 30/- per KG. Fresh Milk from Al Rawabi 1 liter is QR. 6/- Fresh chicken QR. 16/- and frozen is QR. 10 per KG.
If you have no finanica liabilites then you can easily manage your life in Doha.
Was'Salaam.
For a rich experience of 17 years Mechanical engineer, the salary is peanuts... Negotiate hard and tough.
I guess you are from an asian community.
AS salamu alaikum, it's a nice salary, the savings depends on your live style, you definitely need a care out here, rent it or buy.We rent a car out here at first for 1490 a month for a 6 month contract, then we got a car it"s 3200 a months but it's a 2008 GMC Arcadia.Rental car was to small we are 8 ppl. We have to spend at least 3000- 4000 month for shopping .U be able to save but not a whole lot I tell you that now wa allahu allim
you lucky. other people not lucky.
No one can tell you how much YOU will save.
There are too many variables. Are you going purchase a car or rent or rely on public transport? Do you tend to spend alot of money on recreational activities? You are the only one who can set up your budget.
Here is a link to a thread where food costs were discussed.
