Is this a standard package?

Is 15000QR tax free mthly, med insurance cover, free fully furnished 2 bedroom aparment (not sure where?), return airfares, car allowance and return airfares/med insurance/school fees discounted (if family come over to Doha) - sufficent? It is about the money for me. I'd be here on my own and then family would come over on temporary visits initially.
I don't know much about Cambridge, but Compass roughly follows a UK curriculum, although the number British students is small. Most parents I know with kids are happy with it. The two best schools that follow the English national curriculum are DESS (which is just a primary school) and Doha College. Both are very good, but the consensus seems to be that DESS is somewhat better (although is has a very long waiting list and preferences British passport holders). I know quite a few families that started with a second or third choice school and put their names of the waiting lists for their first choice for the following year. My children are at DESS, and they are happy there.
Good luck!
thanks linc - so by the sounds of it, it's a risk huh? I am thinking of Cambridge and another school called Compass International school for the kids to go to?...I'm sure Cambridge is uk curriculum based...or is it US.....thanks again for the great advice...perhaps its better just being a lady of leisure lol!
The offer looks good. If your husband receives housing via his position, it might be worth seeing if you have the option of taking a cash benefit rather than the two-bedroom apartment. Some employers give the option, and the housing I have seen for US and UK teachers varies enormously in terms of quality. Also, car allowances rarely cover the full cost of leasing/buying a car here, so that might be worth looking into further. In terms of airfares . . . again, see if you can receive the cash cost of the airfare rather than a reimbursement for flights back to the UK. This allows more flexibility in terms of how you use the travel funds.
You probably know this already, but schools vary enormously here in terms of quality of staff, students and administration. My wife is a teacher from the UK (although not teaching while we are here), and she says that there are only about three or four "proper" schools she would consider teaching at or sending our own children to. Be very careful in this regard, as we have known a number of people from the UK and Australia who have fallen into some awful situations.
And don't come here just for the money. Everyone I have met that came primarily for the money ended up hating it. It's ok to have money on the list of pros, just not if it is the only one.
Jaac1, seems like a reasonable package, go ahead.
Best wishes.
for teaching/uk/10 yrs experience - a possbile offer for me, although at the moment, the sponsorship would be as per husband's work package, he's a prop. developer. Am looking at all options...I think I'd be bored staying at home tending to my chn, I'd like to be active too.
The question is : "standard package" for which job, at what level, with how much experience, which nationality etc ?
