Should I Expect a significant increase?

Hi All,

I'm interviwing for a finance position in Qatar's Education City and I am not sure what I should expect/bargain for salary wise. I have the same position in the US and make approximately 40,000 a year. Should I only expect the reasonable equivalent in Qatari Riyal? Or would employers offer an increase based on the fact you are traveling across the world and not seeing your friends/family for 3 years?

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

just be honest to the ineterviewer and exactly tell them want you want and what satisfied you. they can give good offer as long that they feel you really fit for the job. good luck

expect nothing

and you will be pleasantly surprised! JK Definitely will need more money than in the US. Everything is more expensive here. common things to negotiate for

Company provided accomodation

travel costs yearly back to home

childrens education costs (private schools here=expensive)

company car or travel allowance

You will want to double your salary from the US. Otherwise it's not worth it to come here.

it's good if you negotiate for salary higher than you recieved in the US plus perks...consider your relocation expenses and other incidental expenses as the cost of living in qatar gone up ,although you may enjoy the tax free policy...good luck and welcome to qatar..
