Salary Offer Reasonable?

I need feedback on a position within a Government agency please. It is a Relations Supervisor position. They are offering family status, help with child's education, housing assistance, medical as well as dental care, annual leave, recreation facility, long term contract.

The salary will be @ 13,500QR/month. Would this offer be considered reasonable? Is negotiating an acceptable practice? Basically, I want to ask for 18,000QR/month, or is this considered rude/offensive/outrageous? I don't by any means want to offend someone, I just want to get a feel for the culture and manner of how negotiating is appropriate vs. inappropriate in Qatar.

Also, how much would I need for a three bedroom villa, with 2 baths, and a maid's room?

Thank you in advance for assistance.

You can try to bargain of course, but the salary is not bad already as it is. I wouldn't press for more than QR 15.000. Make sure they either provide you with a villa or allow at least QR10.000 extra for accommodation though. As long as they agree with that - it sounds good.

Dear Siddh,

First, I apologize for the confusion on the "$" included in the salary quotation, habit.

They are offering 13,500QR/month in addition to the family status, help with child's education, housing assistance, etc. contract.

Thank you for all of your help.

Hi DY,

Is the figure you are seeking (QR 18K) the nett salary or it is the basic salary? In case of basic housing, schooling etc are considered seperate.
