Dear,
i got waitress job offer in Marriot doha...can you advise how much salary is good to join? apart from free accomodation+transport + meal?
I don't even know what's Holiday Villa :| Why the question ?
I would just like to know..do you have any idea working at Holiday Villa? Tia :)
this post is since 2012 ... but thanks anyway
I think generally the salary expecting ranges lies between the 1200 to 2000 according to the country currency. Sometimes it will be added an advantage to getting more salary. Once go through the professional reviews about the salary packages.
hotels Kewick
It would vary depending on the level and nationality you might find one for 2000 or might reach 5000
I suggest that you use also the online recruitment sites like:
monstergulf.com
bayt.com
qatarlabour.net
it will help you to see the salary range too
good luck
i 3 yrs expre in waitress job call 70082659

Happy New Year to all ... I work in a hotel 10 years ..
I want to get a job in a hotel in doha ..
someone help me?
Some waitress are getting up to Qr7000, just like DaRude said depends on the Hotel and your experience..:)
Qatar is a melting point of diff nationalities and we, Filipinos are one of them, proudly. We are not "boycotting" any position/s but we are getting position/s in an establishments because of our capabilities, experience, potential, education, good manners which I think you did not acquire and lastly very good english speakers. On a more personal note, there is no such word as "Becarefull".
aham i understand....
any other suggestions? for another type of job...?! maybe a site to help a bit? if its ok with u....please :)
hotel jobs are cool but when it comes to salary, it sucks! they dont pay much but u ll be gettin commissions on reservations and they ll provide u with accomodation and food and everything but u wont be having enough time to see us :) or go out and enjoy. their working hours are bad and they have curfew at the accomodations.
if u would had read carefully u would have noticed that i said that i might be interested in other fields too....its true...the name of the topic was abt this subject bt now it changed a bit...
i understand i'm not an idiot or a morron...:|
10x anyway
Rezirosca, your Romanian Languge is good enough to give somebody an advice. I think you are very right in your comments.
Beatrice, you have a lot of good ideas from everybody here and I can understand that the job you are looking for in Doha is not recommended. 1000QR per month is nothing eaven if you don't want a night life.
Try to understand the cost of living here. You can read a lot of coments on this topic in both: QL and RG on QL.
Think about it.
hay if possible, do let us know once u get a job here..... just for our information.... take care..... Life Rockz
Beatrice stick to ur current job it's way better than these hotel jobs.enjoy the air
i'm guessing that hehehehe ... such a cute way of making his entrance :)
indeed...easy to talk....hard to do especially when u don't know the whole story....but thank u anyway for ur idea...
thank u...i will try to apply for those kind of jobs too bt from what i saw most of them ask for experience in this domain...i have an idea abt what u have to do there bt...haven't worked....
anyway i'll try my luck in it too...
thank u once again :)
well my future husband can't help me bcz he can have problems....our situation is a bit complicated to explain...
and pls don't take me as the other ppl who come...i don't have any night life or anything like that....i'm gonna be a muslim so no...that kind of things rn't and won't be for me...for the rest of my life.....but thank u for the tips...appreciate it
daca nu stapanesti limba romana bine atunci intreaba pe cineva...nimeni nu a dat in cap nimanui pt ca a vrut sa invete :)
Just Britexpat, jocking..:)
BTW...he's honorary member!
hahahahaha why so sad? i'm romanian...its normal to talk to them too....:P
bt this doesn't mean i will not talk to other ppl...:)
my suggestion is not to try in any hotels but instead try as a receptionist in any offices..... Hotels are bad pay masters...... and i have experienced tat..... plz take my advice and i am sure u will be more happy working in straight shifts nd with more respect for the job....
Got 'future husband' working/will work in Qatar. Marry him. Join him in Qatar on his sponsorsphip. Then use an employment agencey to find you a good offer. Ezzzzzzzzzzzy.
Best of luck

That Dracula has taken another young female to his private domain :o(
It is simple, westerns are treated different here, they have all the privileges. And you are among them. But do not leave home so soon. Take your master degree, work for one year in oil and gas, or any other job you may like and then come here. Do not make the mistake to come here without master and no previous work experience. You will be disappointed.
Succes
i didn't said abt any filipinesse....i really don't understand...please explain....
so to understand....all of the answers i got...r equal with zero?
cuz really now i'm kinda confused :/
Becarefull with those Filipinos working with you, they might try to boycott your job for less money,Then they will try to hire their own "grandmothers for cents" If they can.
The original poster is a Romanian national. And the responses are from Filipinos. Please don't compare the salary scales of the two. Back in 2006 I had an Eastern European acquaintance who worked the bar at the Rydges Hotel (which is no more) and she earned way above what's quoted here in the replies, which is a pittance.
Elena, the colour of your skin makes a huge difference in your payscale in this part of the world.
really thank u for the reply....u mean QR right?
thank u .... allah hafiz :)
in hotel range usually around 1000-2500, free sharing accomodation, free laudry, free transportation from accomodation to work place, free food. usually 2 years contract with 2 way ticket or it depends usually in the contract but most of packages are like that. God Bless
thank u for the reply...:)
well i said i read it somewhere...not that is not true :)
2nd...i surely don't want that...:) and as much as i gain experience in a domain i could look for others in case i'll want to work in other place...:)
contract is of two years not one year..
second thing, if you don't want to continue your job. you can resign and go back to your country.. because here the biggest problem is of sponsorship, they will never let you go easily..
aha...i understand now...and i read somewhere that the contracts r made for one year and after that u might have the possibility of continue working in the same place.am i right?
grazzie Angelo :)
it depends on the package itself... usually they give accomodation, transportation...free meals if you are on duty and free laundry for the uniform... and tip of course... it depends if its personalize or centralized
will include the salary, food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), sharing accommodation, transportation (thru hotel car/bus) and 1 ticket per year.
Ciao
if for example i get an offert from one of the hotels from there...what it will include ?
Enjoy the life doesn't mean "adventures" by the way I have some friends working in the Rits and Marriot Hotel and they says that the salary is not good at all. Please keep in mind that once you get a job in the Hotel you are under Hotel sponsorship and you must live in their accommodation.....you cannot go to live with your boy friend/husband.
Good luck
Ciao
ohh really? thank u so much :) i will...
Bea, you can post in Romanian language here:
Romanian Group
http://qatarliving.com/group/romanian-group
sure.. what are your questions?
i look for a job there...because my future husband is there....i don't look for adventures or anything like this...
Hi dear don't waste time in Doha and go to UAE where you can get a little abit more salary and you will enjoy your life. Qatar is very good to work for families and not for singles.
Ciao
from what i see its not such a gd idea to view the posibility of working on this....i'm looking for other kind of jobs too....but i really have no clue where to look...any ideas??
not good enough to work, you could earn more than that in your place, i would suggest you dont be hurry, unless there is some other suitable placement for you :) - best of luck.
yahrah thank you. may i ask you some questions related to this? if u don't mind of course..:)
thank u for ur information and yet i don't look for a career but from where i have to start i guess....
and if i don't ask too much please watch ur words....people can take it as a rude answer to them...
anyway thank u once again.
my dear i worked as a waitress in a prestigous restaurant here in doha before but to tell you honestly, my salay was only 1000qr way back 5 years ago, this is basic but tips are a big help because sometimes we get 600 each every month.. i heard from my aunt who's working in a five star hotel that she's getting 1200 qr only basic now.
