sometimes you need to read between the lines i did state the job title and the company name. did you think they would recruit a British just because he is?

thank you for tha advise and thanks to everyone that replied.

they expect people to come on single contract and not go home for a whole year. it is a big sacrifice for a low salary.

take it easy boy. did i say i have no qualifications. you seem to have an inferiority complex. i am qualified and i have more than 20 years experience in the oil industry. the salary i get in qatar should be at least 50% than what i can earn in the UK. the world does not need attituds like yours i am here asking for advise from those who can advise not from people like you who have nothing esle to do. if you can not give a positive feed back do not give any feed back at all.

You should get more than that, considering also your nationality, in my company, British is getting what you are expecting plus accomodation, plus car, plus benefits of your family....and knowing QP, they should give more.

In the end, Hyperfifer, it is not a question about what other people are getting. It's a question of how much you are getting now and whether the offer here in Qatar is greater than what you are currently receiving every month. If the job offer here is a step up from your current salary scale and you want to experience life in the Gulf, then we would be glad to welcome you here.

Salaries generally depend on qualification & experience.

If being British is your only qualification and living in Britain the only experience that you have then I won't pay you a dime, be happy to get whatever you are getting.
