Hello everybody, actually we are an Egyptian family , me my husband and three kids ,(2 at school). My husband is supposed to relocate to qatar end of february and we should follow in july after kids finish school here.
I was wondering whether the offer he is having will be good enough for sucha big family to live in qatar. He is working in the field of IT and he has experience of 12 years , he is offered 22000QR, and the co. will pay 80% of school and will give us home allowance of 1500QR in addition to car allowance of 1500QR, in addition to full coverage medical insurance and flights once per year. But he will receive only 70% of his salary till end of the year. CAN YOU PLZ ADVISE US IS THAT OFFER IS OK. WILL BE ENOUGH TO HAVE A GOOD STANDARD OF LIVING?

Are you sure you don't mean 15,000 for housing. That figure is more in line for a monthly payment for a villa or apartment of the size that you will need for your family. I have never heard of such a low housing allottment for a family.

1500 is a little low for a car but definitley workable. Finally paying 20% of tuition costs could take a far portion of your husbands salary as school tuition here is very expensive. You have two school age children and will eventually have 3 school age children.

persuade your husband not to come here. You will struggle with this kind of money.

I am sure it is only 1500QR . That is why we are hesitent about the offer . i guess 22000 wont be enough for everything especially we will have 70% of them only till end of the year

70% only because he has to achieve a certain target , accordingly he will take the remaining 30%. but at the end of the year they will settle the 30%

why only 70% till the eand of the year?

...You can't mean what you say unless you can say what you mean...

Is this a joke? I wouldn't trust a company that would do that and 1500 for housing. Surely you must have meant 15,000. 1,500 will get you a porta cabin that some of the Indian families live in here.

Depends which country you from and most importantly....are you leaving something better for this? and 1,500 will get you a ....may be bed space. Classified section should give you a good idea of what to expect.

The housing allowance is terrible. 1500 won't go very far at all for a family of 5.
