Hey Gunsol, not sure if I'll be living the life since I'm planning to save up. Hoping for an average livelihood here. Iki01, what makes u say the villa is most likely in Dar Al Salam compound? Is there any special reason for that? I'm now just waiting for the next step in the recruitment process. Not too sure what are the processes like.. maybe somebody can update me on this?

If you are from the west, make sure what your tax obligations are to your home country. The money may look like tax free, but you might end up paying tax on everything you receive including air fare, moving allowance, etc

Thanks everyone for the comments and advice. I'll be doing a senior specialist job over there. How about the location and type of the accommodation? I'll most likely to be in their office since it is a desk job although I have no idea where it is yet.

What is your title and your experience? That is the only way we can know if it is a good package or not. If you are going to be a director or head there, then this would be an average offer. But if you are only a specialist or coordinator level, then go ahead and take it. You will be able to lead a very comfortable life with this package.

its good offer,in private companies people are getting not more than 15000QR as lum sump package so thanks to GOD you got good offer, its look like gross package between 42000 to 45000QR , and the accommodation provided by RasGas not less than 15000 QR as my friend, he is just plant operator and RasGas provided complete villa to him amount not less than 20000QR.

Simple.....just be thankful of what you have offered for and live the life just according to your needs and not on what you want.

There are more people out there who doesn't even have a single privileges that you are going to get, in which the real fact is that they deserve it.

Hi Zackm, there is not mention of any other allowances in the their tentative offer.. Will there be any and what kind of allowances are they? Do you know anything about their accommodation?

I assume it is 25K + applicable allowances as per your grade. Which means you will have more cash coming your way. Also since you are not going to spend on housing, you will be able to save more. It is a good offer, but always try to negotiate more. Don't take the first offer. Welcome to Qatar! You will experience the love and hate soon enough!
