QP Job Offer Advice and Site Interview..Plz comment
Hello,
I have received an invitation for a site interview in Qatar. I am not sure whether the offer is good or okay. The reason is I make little more than the offered basic salary. If you guys can make some comments that would be great. By the way I am from Canada, and in QP the position is a Grade 14 as a System Engineer. My question is can we negotiate on the basic salary range at all? What do you think about this offer.

Contract Type ----->Indefinite
Monthly Basic Salary Range ----> QR 18,000- 20,000 (Qatari Riyal)
Monthly Housing Allowance ---> QR 14,200
Monthly Transport Allowance --> QR. 2,000
Furniture Allowance --->QR 55,000
Car Loan 5 times Basic Salary (Interest free)
Annual Leave + annual flight tickets
Children's Education Assistance Paid as per QP Policy

Regarding salary negotiation. It's unlikely that the basic salary will be changed much (if at all) by negotiation.

Of course the salary is negotiable especially if you talk to a local. Qataris are very generous!

its a very good offer, but u can still negotiate the basic salary.
Offer is good.First U should check the location.At present cost of living little high.If qp is arranging accomadation ,go for it.
salary & othr facilities depends on the location .QP is the heart of Qatar.Best wishes.
there is some factors which do effect on the basic salary range , its the grade they with give you .
based on that grade , your package will be as what you wrote in your post

that's a brilliant offer! okay, lets say you earn more in Canada but do you get housing and transport allowance there? I don't think so. Do you get child education assistance there? Ofcourse you do get from the Government but not from the company. Plus, QP is a very good company despite the plunging oil prices.
