QP grades

Ihave been offered a job in QP at grade 14 but I heard from someone that i should atleast get grade 16, can anyone pls tell me what is the difference in terms of grade i.e. 14 and 16 r they both managerial, middle level or one of them is managerial and the other is not. any long term implications of joining at lower or higher grades. appreciate whatever advices you guys can provide.

Definitely grade 16 is better than 14 but to answer the remaining part of the question, please provide the offered position title or position reference.
