Please give an answer
Recently i went for an interview in a company. One of the question the interviewer asked me was 'If i was a secretary to the CEO and 7 other managers working for him and one day all of them give me a task to complete and all say that it is urgent and want the same day how will i handle and complete the task.
Could you please help.

( Just for CEO)
CEO's works come 1st..... u can do others work( but its out of your scope).
u wher been tested in mgt knowledge....
We usually consider the work from the CEO as the first priority, considering also that he is your direct superior. But you have to ask these managers also if those works require urgency... For all you know, these works might also come from the CEO. From there you will be able to set your priorities on which should come first.
Tough question you have there..Since your CEO is your direct boss, you should prioritize him first and allot time to other managers whom they want your help.
You should schedule your time to be able to satisfy all managers including you big boss.
If all efforts have been exhausted, then I think it's better to say outright to the managers that you can't attend to all of them.
Really it may depend on how difficult the tasks are. But at the end of the day, its not how fast you finish the task but how you did it correctly......Hope my suggestions make sense to you...

They were checking your knowledge of Time Management which is very important in some Companies. I go with bestman.
I would say I was secretary to the CEO, not the 7 managers, so I would only complete what the CEO gave to me to do.
Life is quite simple.....
maintain a task list everyday and discuss with each manager all the tasks in hand including CEO's and decide on the priority basis what is the MOST urgent among all URGENT requests to be attended FIRST! If you are unable to take decision at your own :)

Tasks can be broken down into five categories:
Important and Urgent
Important and Not Urgent
Urgent but Not Important
Busy Work
Wasted Time
