Hi
We've been offered the following deal
14,000 QR each, + 3 bed accom, health ins., car allowance, kids tuition paid.
We think it's a very livable deal.
Anyone have a comment?
Can't wait to be in Qatar!
..........but we hear great things! We loved the vibe in South American, loved the Bengalis - whew, tough life there for most! - but we are really looking forward to being in a country where people love kids so much. Our two little boys will love it! They like the outdoor life here in Norway, and the ski-ing, but the weather is pretty lousy. They are wanting to learn to in-line skate on the Corniche!
So...shukran, inchoofik ba-dayn! (Hope I got that right - it wouldn't do to start insulting the Qataris before I arrive!)
....is living in the world's most expensive country - Norway! We are used to having a good salary but being very disciplined savers and investers.
We don't crave 'brand name' products, I cook a lot from scratch so we eat lots of veggies and stuff like lentils and basic meats, I am not high maintenance in terms of hair and nails etc!
Right now, just some sunshine and the odd triip to the beach are worth lots of money to us, and $800 each to get to London is a luxury! A short flight to Amsterdam from here can be as much as $400 depending when you fly, so I reckon you could say we have some pretty good training for Qatar!
Not a fortune in salary, but if the other stuff really is taken care of, it will be almost all discretionary disposable income, so - depending on what you are used to - my 'colleague' Boer is right.
Qatar's winter months are brimming with unmissable experiences, from the AFC Asian Cup 2023 to the World Aquatics Championships Doha 2024 and a variety of outdoor adventures and cultural delights.

dont wait u can come up...good for you
This sounds a good deal... and when everything - Accomodation + Car/Transport + Kids School is taken care, you will save a lot.
Food for a family of 4 should account less then 3000 QR.
So U will still have more then 25000 QR !!

NOW A DAYS LIVING COST IN DOHA IS MAJOR FACTOR AND RENT DRIVEN INFLATION IS ON PEAK.
FUTURE PICTURE IS NOT MUCH CLEAR SO BE CAREFULL....
disposable income (after basics like house, car etc.) is a fair chunk of cash. You should be able to save a bundle!!
