Morning NH..

I need to mention that the ticket allowance and immigration allowance are supposed to be paid by the employer. He put those in there to make the package more attractive. You also wont get a ticket home to the philippines for QR2,400 (If you find that price it will be via 2-3 stops over a few days or in the cargo hold of the plane ;))

it's not a joke my friend... even I, I was really surprised about this stuff... i told one of my friends who is working there in Qatar and he got shocked regarding this... he told me that it's way too low for the standard salary scale in Qatar... i had this second thought of making myself very "sub-standard" if i will accept this offer... or maybe i just don't know yet how negotiations really goes on there in Qatar... that's why i'm asking all of you for your advice and the what-to-do-after-this stuff...

yeah venks... this is totally freaking frontal assault... its like they didn't even consider the position compared to other companies which give much higher than this offer... this is really insane!!!

You have a lead!

But if you didnt miss zeroes and acco shared by 8 people......reject this offer. Infact its not an offer its a freaking frontal assault!

ahmoud, i believe i already have some applications from those companies you have mentioned... would you mind sending you my CV for some future openings in your company? thanks!

NH, try applying in the Qatar gov and semi gov sectors (i.e QP, RasGas etc). You can find these companies by a quick google search.

If you are making 2000 - 2500 in Saudi you will be much better off there than on 3500 here. Try and get more, just tell them you did research and that this wouldnt get you by in Qatar. They are hiring from abroad because they cant find local people for that money.

according to someone who worked there before, there would be a little chance of increasing the offer by this or that much... poor me... maybe can help me find another company to seek for this position...

That salary converted to USA is not enough for one month.

Check out CSA Ltd. www.csakuwait.com. They pay for your flight (both ways), you get sick days, 10 holidays, and 30 days vacation plus a ticket to Germany at 6 months.

You can do much better.

That is an astonishingly low offer. They're trying it on.. cheeky little monkeys! If they won't offer you more - I'd suggest you refuse the offer. Doha is not a cheap place to live, and what you earn you'll end up spending just to survive - e.g. not able to save a thing... Best of luck..

i didn't miss some zero's there... i copied the message as it is... you were shocked as well, weren't you? =D

they mentioned that accommodation will be provided by the company but i got a feedback from a very reliable source that it was shared by 8 people... maybe i really should think twice... i will not accept it if they will not give me an accomodation and transportation allowance... HELL NO!!!

Food allowance: QAR 200.00?? it is a food allowance for my fishes, and they are still rather skinny!!

thank you for all your advices... i will take all of these into consideration... i forgot that i am applying for a position which i have crafted for many years before i acquired it... and to think that this company is a "Q" one... shocking isn't it?

By Amoud• 17 Nov 2008 15:51

They will give you that much monthly to go towards your residence procedures. By law the company should pay for this and is not allowed to take it from the employee. Your Residence here will cost 1152 (last I remember) yearly.

I cant believe a big company here is only offeriing this. Tea boys in the big companies here make QR 2000+ with provided accomodation.

wow!!! i didn't expect those kind of feedbacks regarding this issue... btw, this company is very well-known there... im just protecting their name as well as mine for me not to end up in trouble... I would also like to clarify about one thing, WHAT IS IMMIGRATION ALLOWANCE? this is the first time i heard that... im here in saudi arabia but there's no such thing as immigration allowance...

Dear it is too low........ Doha is expensive hell man....

ask for more buddy

cost of living here is very high

unlike there in saudi

By Amoud• 17 Nov 2008 15:41

You will resort to eating stray cats on that package. And BTW, it is illegal for the company to charge you for your immigration procedures.

Ticket should be provided by your employer also, and I would check the 21 days per anum... I think they will tell you it is every 2 years once you get here. Be careful. The cost of living here is very high, if you are making something comparable in Saudi I would stay put.
