I have been offered a permanent contract for a Senior role in the Telecom field amounting to 31.5 QRs/month including housing & transportation allowance. I am from Sweden, married and having 10 years of experience in the same field and was wondering whether this is a good package to consider?
What else should I be looking for in the offer? Is relocation allowance normally given?

Sorry I meant 31.5K QRs/ month.I am wondering whether its a bit less including housing & transportation. I dont have kids.

1. Housing allowance - Would it be the allowance for furnished apartment or unfurnished?

2.Transportation allowance - would that mean return flight tickets + allowance for vehicle (loan)

3. how about Medical insurance? Is that covered?

Good morning mate...to whichever part of the world you are...

I would say mate...for the amount offered, you would find a nice place to stay, but have a look at the housing and car provided and then decide...cos you aint going to be loosing anything or saving anything if you do take that allowance...

Now for the base salary, how about you tell us your qualification, experience and sector of work...maybe that wud help to give you a better advice...of the salary that you've been offered...but generally speaking mate...a basic salary of 20,250/- is pretty nice mate!!! So yea there you go, hope it helps...

Hi all,

I have been offered a role in QATAR and was wondering a couple of things.

How long does it take to get a visa?

Is the salary livable?

Am i better of taking the car and housing offered or finding my own?

I am single non-dinker (who enjoyes socalicing).

The base salary is

20,250.00 with up to 1,250.00 for transport (or a small 4 door) and accom of 3,805.80 (all monthly rates0

I assumed are QR 31,500 per month! Anyway the relocation allowance I got with my previous assignment in Qatar (Oil & Gas sector) but I don't know if normally give or not for other type of work sector. Do you have child? The International Schools are very expensive there. If you would rent an 2 bedrooms fully furnished apartment QR 8,000/month, car rental QR 2000/month (corolla, lancer). The food price is reasonable...let's say cheap. The restaurant for two person will be QR 160 (without alcohol and average type of restaurant). We Europeans like to drink............24 beers QR 130, a normal wine (750 ml) QR 30. Thursday night at Club will cost for two person around QR 200 (only for drinks). Cigarettes are very cheap, fuel almost free, parking free.

I think is enough for you to decide.

Good Luck

Angelo
