Thank you guys..i can figure out now...i'll ask them for xtra housing and car allowance. (not to include in the salary). what's the name of the area near to the new airport ? i intend to rent an apartment nearby to a new airport.(near to my site) how much is the rate in that area..?
Your nationality shows you an Indonesian. Not sure you hold a citizenship in Malaysia nevertheless RM7k isn't a bad salary to live a family life there. Schooling is indeed costly here but varies from roof to roof.
I can give an average monthly cost of living for a family of four (in QAR). It all depends on how you choose to live.
Rent for 2 B/R flat : 5500
W&E + Internet: 600
Food: 2000-2500
Entertainment: 800
Rent-a-car: 1500
+basic furnishing+schooling
you are an architect so you know how to calculate your budget with your offer.why come if no savings.
Qatar salaries depends on the race that's why for 17 years of experience, they are offering you around 20k only.. if this' suits your needs, go for it, and try for a couple of years, if you like it, then its up to you.. remember you have to sacrifice if you go and live alone here in Doha (like what i am)...try to ask your future employer about other benefits like your child's schooling, family status visa, other allowances, other companies provide cars to their architects and engineers, representations (if applicable), ask for more in housing allowance if possible... what else?
There is loads of good advice on this here on QL. Try using the search facility. But it will mainly come down to how much you can earn at home, and how much you will miss home.
