To be honest 5K is already OK, but assuming that you made a good impression during the interview process, ask for 8K with transport and housing provided. If you are lucky, you may get it otherwise, accept the offer.

salaries depends on the company's management, size etc. considering you do not have GCC experience, and the post offered is for asst. civil engr, and guessing you are not married, it might be a good start for you, provided you have a normal life style. yes, as many quoted above, there are civil engrs drawing 25-30 k / month, but it depends on your experience, especially GCC exp, the company, as I said above already. of course, as you grow in your career, say, after 5 years or so, you could look for a better job. best of luck dear.

Yasir , There may be another underlying reason for him , because some gentlemen are fed up from their cunning GFs / nagging wifes in their home countries so they they try to escape with a ' win some - loose some ' situation .. ............... To gene_lv...so , what in your opinion should be the salary for the OP also what is your opinion about the salary for an experienced Indian Civil Engineer with 15+ years of experience in Doha

Brother m also a civil engineer when I came here in Qatar I had only 6 months of experience and that time my salary was more than 5k so kindly ask for more as you have 2.5 years of experience ask for 12k

I am into Recruitment and I know the market. The salaries varies because of many factors 1) company policy 2) Nationality (this is a factor whether people will agree or not) 3) Qatar or International experience, etc. etc. I am not spoiling the market but this is the real scenario.

5000? r u ok? Do u know the cost of living in Qatar?U should have asked for 10 thousands with free accommodation and office pick up :( what will u do with 5000 here in Qatar?

thanks for the comments..Actually some of my friends tell me that they know other low experience engineer getting about 4k..so at first I thought like 5k + allowances would be decent..but then other same experience as me getting 8k or 9k..well is there any organization that monitor minimum salaries?

actually, If the company is arranging for accommodation and transport, then its all right to get 5000 for a start, assuming that you are single and not thinking of shifting a family here. 2500 per month should be a modest lifestyle. not lavish, but you can survive.

By oburi• 4 Jun 2014 07:30

Yup, I asked for 8k package..

forget the double after a couple of years... don't spoil the market of a very low salary of a civil engr. am also a civil engr but am getting 6x more on on your asking price of 5k... even if it is an asst. civil engr. at least get a min. of 8k to survive in Qatar... if you don't know Qatar is a very expensive country w/ a high cost of living...

By oburi• 4 Jun 2014 06:57
oburi

Yeah, I forgot to mention, it's for an assistant Civil Engineer position, I think it's quite ok considering the experience I have right now. It will double after couple of years.

5K???OMG YOU ARE SPOILING THE MARKET...I knew a lot of Civil Engr, are getting 15-20k/month inclusive of everything and it depends also on the company...5k is not enough, at least a minimum of 10k...anyway...goodluck to you my friend...

By oburi• 4 Jun 2014 06:44
oburi

wow.. thank u for the infos..I really appreciate it..I put QR 8000 package for the expected salary..heheh thay can just negotiate more if they want to.

Considering your experience and being new in Qatar, 5K is OK as long as housing and transportation are provided. Honestly, other candidates received less that 5K for a start. Gook Luck

By nafeels• 3 Jun 2014 22:20

5k is nothing. and if u have to pay rent out of it u will be in trouble.

i dont know abt civil engineers but others normally get around 30k.

so if ur serious abt survivng here then minmum 15 to 20k unless the company offering is some local small time construction comany then it ur luck how much u get
