I been working in my company for 6 years as a waitress in hospitality company under the supervision of  Filipino management who is unauthorize to build a business coz they are both working here as a goverment employee but nobody knows about it. My basic salary is 700 Qr and 150 Food allowance. Free accommodation and transportation. Maximum of 6 person in 1 room together with bed bugs, 3 toilet for everybody. Our salary is delayed everymonth and sometimes it takes to 2 to 3 months. If we made a mistake they will advice the staff to submit a resignation letter wich is not mentioned in our contract. So that they cant spend there money for ticket. But the worst thing i ever encountered, they are not giving the right amount of the staff graduaty.

Do we have right to fight for our right? and How? everyone are afraid to complain. We dont know about Qatar Labor law. We dont know what to do. What can we do about this?

Qatarsim,  As per Labor Law (no14) 2004:If they havent given you are contract: this is illegal as employers have to give you one. (Article 38)If they are working without their sponsor's permission: this is illegal. Highly unlikely that a government employee would be allowed. (Article 42.3)If they are not paying you on time: this is illegal. They have to pay you monthly. (Article 66)If they dont repatriate you at the end of your contract (even if you resign), this is illegal (unless you want, and they give you, an NOC, so you can trnsfer to a better employer) (Article 57)If you mean they are not paying End of Service gratuity, if the worker has  completed 1 years service, this is illega (Article 54)I suggest you go the Labor Department, and ask their advice. What do you have to lose?

They (your employers)  do certainly know the rules to play around with their staff. The one thing they all come up with always is behave and dont complain or we cancel your visa or resign and buy your own ticket. The management should be understanding, considerate and good to their staff if they want them to do a proper job. You could always take your case to the labour courts but whichever way you go about it the employee is the looser out here
