Is this a good salary package?

Hi All

Apologies for yet another "Is this a good salary package?"

I have received an offer from a company in Qatar, it is

 Basic QAR 19k pm

 Housing QAR 11k pm

Transport QAR 2k pm

Plus Full schooling costs for 3 children

Family of 5, don't drink, like to eat out

The housing allownace looks reasonable, I am after some advice as to how much of the basic we could save we could save?

What should I budget as monthly household expenditure, Bills, phone, TV, Grocery, Meat etc

 All advice welcome!

Why is it that people come to Qatar and straight away start looking for work for their wives ?

This is a good salary, but for a family of five people, you will end up spending most of it and saving too little. First, you will need a big house (villa or apartment), in which case you will most probably pay more than your housing allowance. You will also need to buy/rent a car (2000 riyals a month) and allocate at least 1000 riyal for telephone and internet. So eventually you will have 15 to 18k to spend and save. That is more than enough for a family of 5 if you spend reasonably, but if you like to eat out and travel then the salary is not that much.
