stijn,

You truely have my attention...The figures that you have quoted add up for a 8 hour working day to around QR 140,800 PER MONTH..for a 22 day working month( If its hourly rate, probably weekends are not paid for)...

I would love to meet such "European Workers"..Since most of us are modern day slaves, a meeting with "European Workers" will be truely enlightening..

Shazza, it depends what your job is.... 10,000 for a secretary is excellent while 40,000 for a qualified engineer in the oil industry is average. The range of salaries goes from US$1000 per annum to US$200,000 in the same company.

Aburadien...... A reasonable apartment with two bedrooms will cost anything from 7-9000. Then you have school fees on top of that. You should be able to live on 4500 (not extravagantly) if the company provides accommodation AND schooling for the kids.

That salary is bigger than mine, I got only qar4500 per month plus housing allowance 3000 ,car allowance 30 000 etc. Do you think it can be negotiated?? can I live in doha with wife and 2 children with that salary??? (i work for qafco)

thanks giasi, waiting for your advice..

First of all QAR5900 for an engineer is disgraceful. I would really question the quality of company offering that.

To give you some idea of what to expect... tell me..

Years experience

Industry (oil & Gas... construction... utilities etc)

Have you worked outside india before?

ill try and tell you what to expect, i cant speculate on what you deserve :)
