Is 40,000 QR enough

Qatar here i come
By Qatar here i come

Hi All,

I am Australian and I have been offered 40,000QR a month salary plus 9,000 housing allowance and 3,000 car allowance. they also offered me a family visa and medical insurance for all.

would this amount be enough for me, my wife and a baby to leave in and save? would we be able to save at list $6,000 a month on this salary and still manage to live a decent lifestyle? could you also please advice on how difficult is it to negotiating with employers for a NOC cluse and multiple entry to be included in a contract? is it better to get a fully furnished house or should we just sheep our stuff from here? and would the company pay for fright in most cases? can you all please advise on this points as I need to make a decision by next week.. every advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

This chap may be telling lies about his salary at 52K. It's pure rubbish. He does not know how to take decision, Lol. Anybody earning 2500 Rials would have more common sense than him.

Dear QH i come, have no 2nd thoughts, just say yes and try to land here at the earliest, if not any other brilliant / smart guy may grab this job. This package seems to be more than what you deserve I feel. Pls share the name of the person who ever interviewed you.

You want to ship or sheep?

is it a genuine post? I mean never saw any Australian with that kind of salary offer with this kind of spelling mistake.

Qatr got nothing to spend around if you have a sensible life style.Otherwise people do buy 25 US$ tissue papers to throw in dustbin.

If you spend in basic food and basic life style like an India. Not roaming much n spending much in shopping malls you can save 70% of your salary.

But maximum White expats enroll themselves in high end clubs, their wives spend millions in parlors and they buy loads of expensive liqors too.Same all do who want to live a good life.

But lot many go office work and stay back at home watching TV.They buy groceries once a week and eat out once a week only in good quality mid budget restaurants.Without flashing the expensive hands bags or diamonds or new cars within 23 years this kind of expats become great land owners or fat bank balance holders back home.

Every man in this world saves if he is strict in controlling the budget and having a understanding wife too to help him in this.Otherwise lot many ladies bring 1000s of relatives to home on weekends to serve them great expensive food and gifts to show off. In the name of being very sweet and social.

Your life your choice.Just be reasonable and don't get infatuated with others life styles or expensive proms or toys. Those who come Qatar with a plan never fail but those who are easily distracted with high end life style return home with empty pockets and loads of pictures in camera only.

Qatar here i come

wild turkey; thanks for the heads up mate, I really appreciate it.

the company I'll be working for is very reputable company with a big branch here in OZ and I'm feeling very confident in that regard. I was in Qatar 2 weeks a go to visit and look for a job, that's how I scored the interview and managed to get this job. they've since told me my offer has been finalised and its in the final stage where its getting signed before sending it to me,.. huumm so I'm still waiting to see something in writing, all promises above is still word of mouth nothing in writing yet...

Mate how long does it take from the moment of knowing you've got the job to the moment of receiving your actual offer in writing?? any ideas..

Regards

"My previous company employed me with company sponsored visa for 3 months and send me back to my country without visa stamping or fingerprint. They promised me to transfer my last month salary to my home account but didnt do it.They have not responded to my mails nor answered my calls. After 3 months i found another job and returned to qatar. Now when I confronted them they are not willing to pay. They have done the same to one of my supervisor previously." - This is a good example of the business "culture" in Qatar.

And one more thing you should know: contracts mean nothing in Qatar.

Two round-trip air tickets for the family per year should also be part of the contract.

It is more important to make sure that they pay for the health insurance of the whole family.

And, a fully furnished house will cost you 20,000. - 9,000 isn't enough for that!

My advice is to make the NOC and the Multiple Exit a part of the contract. If they refuse, I would NOT take the job. And, I would not come without the family. So, they should make the Visa for all three of you at the same time.
