The Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs’ Zakat Fund has announced the amount to be paid for this Ramadan season.
In a statement issued by the Zakat Fund, it specified that the amount of Zakat Al-Fitr for this Ramadan season 1442H is equivalent to QAR 15 and highlighted that the amount should be given before the Eid Al-Fitr prayer.
The ministry urges the public to pay Zakat Al-Fitr on time and explained that it is the duty of every Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult.
This is so that the fund amount can be delivered to the poor who desperately need it.
The Fund explained that the basic principle of Zakat Al-Fitr is to take it out from most of the people's food, which is rice, and the amount is 2.5 kg, with the possibility of paying it in cash at a value of QAR 15.
Zakat Fund then collects the cash which contributed for Zakat Al-Fitr from the generosity of the public and distributes it to those who entitled to it as appointed according to the Sunnah of the Prophet.
