QL checks out its first tent!
QL got invited to check out the Grand Hyatt’s Iftar tent and here’s a bit about our tent adventure.
Before we get into the tent though, one has to mention the amazing decor and ambience of the Grand Hyatt. We walked in and the lighting, the grand staircase, the crystals - it seemed like something out of a magazine.
It was absolutely beautiful. The whole space was transformed. Spectacular would be a great word to describe the cathedral ceilings and overall ambience. I think I finally caught wind of what those luxury and lifestyle bloggers are always talking about.
Grand Hyatt Doha in the evenings is always a treat.
We then entered the dining area. They had a variety of food sections for their visitors. Arabic foods from North Africa, Middle East and, of course, the GCC. Strangely, although the selections were in fact quite tasty, the Arabic Mezza section stole the show for both myself and my friend.
It’s hard to find really good Mezza - this is coming from an Arab that actually knows what it is suppose to taste like. Thus, it wasn’t merely traditional Arab appetizers (Mezza) done well… it was Mezza done perfect.
I tried a bit of the Ouzzi, lamb with rice - and it was good and flavourful. But to be honest - I just made my way back to the Mezza (appetizer/Salad) table. This is why this hardly a food review - as out all of the options available, I likely only sampled about 10% of the buffet.
But that’s the things with most buffets, there may be tons of food but rarely would any of it be deemed “delicious”. Buffets usually offer tons of options that could be at best “okay”. This tent definitely had some excellent eats on offer.
The dessert selection was quite fantastic too. Lots of options that actually “tasted” good - not just looked good. There were Western and Middle Eastern desserts.
If you and your friends are looking for a tent where the healthy options are out of this world amazing - Grand Hyatt’s tent may have your name on it.
One thing to note as well was the service was friendly and seemed really enthusiastic to kick off the Ramadan season. They honestly made it feel like they were happy to serve you. Rarely, I mean very rarely, do you see servers so enthusiastic.
Verdict - I would go back just for the appetizer table - best one I’ve tried in years! It really was that good.
looks like we have our verdict here written indirectly :P...this one can be passed off...maybe for next time..
