Mosques to perform Qiyam al Layl in Qatar
The last 10 days of Ramadan are always steeped in worshipping as the rewards for prayers are multifold. In addition to the usual fasting and night congregation prayers called Taraweeh, Muslims also like to engage in ‘i’tikaf’ (seclusion of oneself in a mosque for 10 days) and the Qiyam al layl (late night prayers that extend until the last quarters of the night before suhoor).
Awqaf has assigned nearly 111 mosques this Ramadan for I’tikaf. There are several mosques in Qatar where the Qiyam can be performed. We’ve listed out some of the mosques, in terms of spaciousness, ease of access, ladies’ prayer areas, and popularity. Here are some mosques to perform Qiyam al Layl in Qatar for Ramadan 2023.
