Katara announces Ramadan 2023 activities
The Cultural Village Foundation Katara, unveiled over 20 activities, competitions and events revolving around culture, education and entertainment for all age groups during the month of Ramadan.
The highly anticipated events include the Ramadan Lanterns Festival that will take place on the first day of Ramadan at the Katara Corniche and the Garangao celebrations that fall annually on the 15th day of Ramadan. Multiple competitions are scheduled to take place on the first day of Ramadan including the Qur’an memorization competition for children at the Katara mosque, Arabic poetry competition, the photography competition and the Katara Ramadan Short Story Competition.
For gaming and sporting enthusiasts, Katara has made arrangements for the Katara Electronic Games Championship, Katara Ramadan Beach Volleyball Tournament, Cycling activities and the Katara International Ramadan Chess Tournament.
Most activities are scheduled to take place on the first day of Ramadan and will continue throughout the holy month. Attached below is the complete list of events scheduled to take place at Katara.
With Ramadan around the corner, both government and public institutions in the country are making preparations for a more festive and hassle free Ramadan. Earlier this month, Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) announced a list of reduced prices for over 900 consumer goods for the duration of the holy month.
Meanwhile Qatar’s General Endowments Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced that they will be setting up 10 iftar tents offering 10,000 meals every day during the month of Ramadan.
