The holy month of Ramadan is under full swing and Qatar is all glammed up with Ramadan themed decorations and activities and events for everyone.
Since Ramadan comes with a host of spiritual obligations, it is best that we prepare well. In addition to stocking up on day to day Ramadan essentials, families with children need to come up with alternative plans to make the holy month exciting for the little ones.

Iftar time with little children can get a bit challenging. Children need constant entertainment and the daily requirement to be on their good shoes for an extended period of time can be a little taxing.
For your convenience, we have compiled a list of places where the children can play around while you break your fast. Here’s a list of places where you can break your fast outdoors in Qatar with your family.
Museum of Islamic Art Park (MIA Park)
MIA Park is a popular picnic spot and during Ramadan, it is an excellent place to break your fast. The park has ample space for children to run around and play in addition to play areas and water fountains. You can bring your mats, tables and chairs along with your food to MIA Park to enjoy an iftar complemented by spectacular views.
The park is also in close proximity to Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center (Al Fanar Mosque) that offers Taraweeh prayers.

Attractions for children: Children’s play areas, trampolines, water fountains and ample garden space for running around.

Al Bidda Park
One of the largest parks in Qatar, Al Bidda Park is well facilitated for families to break their fast during Ramadan. The park is well equipped with gazebos, barbeque pits, picnic tables and benches for a hassle free experience during iftar. For larger gatherings, the gazebos and barbeque pits can be pre-booked on the Al Bidda Park app.
Children can run around and enjoy the play areas, water plaza or amphitheater while you enjoy your iftar overlooking the majestic Westbay skyline.

Hotel Park
Located in the heart of Doha, Hotel Park is a family favorite at any time of the year. During Ramadan you can bring your mats, chairs and tables to break your fast while your children enjoy the park’s rolling hills and play areas.
After breaking your fast you can enjoy a leisurely stroll while listening to the recitations of the Qur’an being played over the loudspeaker. Rawdat Al Khail Park
Compact and well equipped, Rawdat Al Khail Park was opened last year and a popular spot for families during Ramadan. Roll out your mats and spread out your food for a joyous iftar with family. Soak in the views as you break your fast and your children enjoy the outdoors.

Location: Al Muntazah
Aspire Park
A popular park for picnics and family gatherings, Aspire Park is a lovely spot to break your fast this Ramadan.
Children can enjoy the play areas or run around the garden space while you break your fast. Once iftar is done you can enjoy a leisurely stroll with your little ones along the jogging track or lake.
For prayers, you can bring in your prayer mats and pray in the park or use the prayer rooms at Villaggio Mall. Alternatively you can visit Aspire Mosque that is in close proximity to Aspire Park and conducts taraweeh prayers as well.

Attractions for children: Children’s play areas, water arch and lake with ducks and aquatic animals
Location: Aspire Zone, Al Waab
Tips for breaking your fast outdoors:
- It is best you bring your own supplies such as paper plates, paper cups, cutlery, tissues, mats, foldable chairs and tables.
- Come prepared with your own food and drinks to break your fast. Do not forget the water and dates!
- Bring some extra toys for the little ones to enjoy while you break your fast.
- Remember to keep the place clean. Collect all waste to be disposed of in the designated bins.
